November 13, 1961
Meeting was called to order by Chairman Pro-tem Baxter.
Those present were: Mayor Simmons, Chairman Pro-tem Baxter, Councilman
Copp, and Councilman Nash. Pres~ent Sembler and Co~%ncilman DeCristofaro Absent.
City Attorney Vooelle was also present.
Minutes of the meeting of October 12, 1961 wSre approved as read.
Councilman Nash moved that bills in the amount of $1,639.80 for
the month of October be paid. Seconded by Councilman Copp. Carried.
Attorney Corey Walker introduced an Ordinance a~d requested that it
be passed, entitled:
AN ORDINANCE VACATING AN EASEMENT FOR LIGHT, TELEPHONE,
AND TELEGRAPH POLES, THE LAYING OF SEW~ERS, THE DIGGING OF DITCHES,
AND OTHER PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS AND UTNLITIES ACROSS
THE REAR 15 FEET OF THE LOTE IN BLOCKS 3 AND 4 END A
RESERVATION FOR DITCH RIGHT-Of-WAY ON THE 5 FEET
LYING BET~E~iiliN BLOCKS 3 AND 4 AND THE EAST RIGHT-
OF-WAY OF TItE FLORIDA EAST COAST RAILWAY COMPANY
AS SHOWN IN PLAT OF EDGEWATER PARK, A SUBDIVISION
IN THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA.
Councilman Nash moved that Ordinance be read first time in full,
Councilman Copp. Voting was as follows:

Councilman Nash moved that Ordinance be read second time by title only.
Seconded by Councilman Copp. Voting was as f~llows:

Councilman Nash made a motion that Ordinance be read third time by title
only and placed upon its final pass~ge. Seconded by Councilman Copp. Voting

Nayes - None
Thereupon said Ordinance was declared duly adopted and given the
number 194.
Upon motion made by Councilman Nash, Seconded by Counci~manN~NN Copp,
and carried a resolution was passed declaring that all t~uildings now located on
the lots in Blocks 3 & 4, Edgewater Park Subdivision, in City of Sebastian, Florida
do not violate any Ordinance, Rules or regulations of the City of Sebastian,
Florida. Resulution Number 195.
Upon motion made by CounCilman Nash, Seconded by Councilman Copp, and
Carried, a Resolution was passed that through its Mayor and City Council, convey
by Quit-Claim Deed to Paul R. Stevenson and Hazel T. Stevenson, his wife;
That 5 feet strip of land lying between Blocks 3 and 4, EdgewaSer
Park Subdivision, and the right-of-way of the Florida East Coast Railway Company,,
all as shown on plat of Edgewater Park Subdivision, City of Sebastiau, Florida.

Councilman Nash moved to accept replats subject to bonds in plat being
transfered to replat. Seconded by Councilman Copp. Carried.
Councilman Nash moved that Mayor Simmons and City Clerk sign~'the replats.
Seconded by Councilman Copp. Carried.
Councilman Nash made a motion that City Hall be open from 7:00 to
9:00 P. M. on December 5, 1961 for the convenience of those citizens unable to
register during regular hours. Seconded by Councilman Copp. Carried.
Attorney Vocelle stated that under the City Charter, it is not
mandito~y to be registered in the County, in order to register and vote in the
City.

Councilman Na~h moved that names be placed on the ballot.

Mr. Sam Benschop - Inspector
Councilman Nash made a motion that the clerk be paid $15.00 per day and the
inspectors each ye paid $12.00 per day. Seconded by Councilman Copp. Carried.

Councilman Nash ~oved that we accept the recommendations and keep building
Committee. Seconded by Councilman Copp. Carried.
Councilman Nash made a motion that at expiration of the City's
Insurance p~licies they be turned over to Ken Atha Insurance. Seconded by
Councilman Copp. Carried.
Councilman Nash moved to adjourn.
