HomeMy WebLinkAbout11141960Regular Me~ting NQyem~er 14, 19~ ~-~___.~ · Meeting was called to order by President Sembler. ~ Those present were Mayor Rohme, President Sembler and Councilmen ~innegan, Nash, Baxter an8 Brehmer, City Emgineer Darling also present. Clerk read a resolution in reference to the abandonment of an easement between lots I and 2 of Block 59 in Sebastian Highlands. Councilman Finnegan made a motion to adopt said resolution, seconded by Councilman Mash, carried. Minutes of regular meetings of October 10th and. October 24th and Special called meetings of October 17th and November 7, 1960 were approved as read. City ~gineer met with the ~uncil for the purpose of discussing a dis- crepancy of approximately 76 feet of the property of Sebastian Cemetery in a survey by Carter Engineer and the City Er4~ineer, also items submitted for p~y- ment to the City for past services rendered by the City Engineer. City Council agreed to arrauge a meeting between parties involved and the City Attorney in reference to the discrepancy in surveys of the a%ove mentioned property. Bills in the amount of $2,556.82 was approved by the finance committee and authorized to be paid on motion by Councilman Baxter, Seconded by Councilman Brehmer, carried. Jay Goree requested the Coumcil to give tentative approval of Mr. ~..~illiam R. Coles to act in the ~apacity of Airport Manager for Sebastian Aviation, inc. Councilman Baxter made a motion that the Council give their tentative approval of Mr. ~¢. R. Coles as Airport Manager for Sebastian Aviation, seconded by Councilman Nash, carried. Councilman Baxter reported the electric motor to be used in ce~aetery would be installed the following d~y, also that~th street has been surfaced with shell. Councilman Finnegan made a motion that the following names be Dlaced on the ballot for the coming City election to be held on December 12, 1960. 1. John G. Baxter 2. Tony DeCristofaro 3. Richard D. Hickey 4. Charles ~. Sembler 5~ Leonard L. Vass This motion was seconded by Councilman Mash, carried. Councilman Brehmer made a motion to purchase candy for the city Christmas party, seconded by councilman Finnegan carried. Mayor Rohme stated he would have Chief of Police contact Mr. Homan Strickland in reference to placing speed limit signs in Sebastian Hig~nl~nds. Councilman Baxter made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Councilman Finnegan carried. President of the Council City Clerk
