WHEI~EAS, as provided bythe 0hatter and Ordinances of the City of ~ebastian,.~'lorida, a general election will be held in said City on-the 13th day of December ,1954 , for the purpose of electing theee {3) members of the city Council to serve for the two (2) tears next ~hereafter; AND, ~Ttil]REAS,petitions for the nomination of candidates have been filed with the City Council and have been considered and have been found in proper i'orm and of 'the proper content as provided by law w~wre'by the following persons have Deen nominated as candidates at said election as follows: For l','.emOers of the City Council k.E.~iddleton W.H.0wens u.W~Sembler Cci,William L.~nowden u.~.'~'aylor THEHEFOR, ~e it resolved,that the City Clerk of this Oity is herewith instructed to cause to be prepa~red the necessary Oallots for the holding of such election and to have printed vhereon 'ohe names of the above designated persons as candidates for the respective offices for which they have 0een nominated. BE iT FURTHER ~ESOL'~;D, that the uity ~l~'.kof 'the city of SeOastian,~'lorida,is herewith designated as the polling place for the holding of such election and Zhat 'the polls will be open on such election day from ~:00 o$clock A,~,i. until 7:00 o'clock P.M. BE IT WJR. THER RESOL\/ED that mrs ~',.~arie ~rehmer,~:rs ',~iola Foster and ~,.'~,rs Daisy Sharer be and the same are herewith appointed as inspectors and James ?.f.Pennington be and the same is herewith appointed as Clerk of said election to conduct the same and to report and certify the results thereof to this Council and the city Clerk is herewith directed to notify said persons of their appointment as such election officials. ~!i _Ti' _t:~JHTHEP ~%OLVED, that the City Clerk a~d th~ officials el' th~s City are herewith with authorized and instructed to"do any and all acts necessary to the ca~rying out said election as provided by Law. The foregoing resolution was duly seco:"ded by Council.van Snowden and carried. The Clerk was instructed to write letter to l~/rs Chrtstenson of the County welfare office as to the ~ollectlng the money from FrankLatourette for the work on his septic tank and water symtem. The City Council discussed two street lights to 0e installed,one on Harrison Street and and the other one at the ~hurch of God on N. C~'~tra~.Mooion by Councilman Snowden which was! seconded by Councilman Chesser authorized said lights, carried. it was moved by Councilman ~l±ingsen and seconded by oounciln~n onowden that the City Council discontinue meeting twice a month and have one meeting only and said meeting to be the second monday in the month.Carried. ~Cou$cllman Ellingsen sugested the City pass an Ordinance forbidding an~ Junk yards within the c. orporate limits of the City.NoShing was done until the City Attorney could be cantacted to see if it would conflict with the present ordinance.
