Vocelle Councilman T. B. Hicks was absent The minutes of the Special Meeting of November 16, were read and approved. The following Resolution was introduced by Councilman Park, ~d~E$OLUTI~ NO ~1 ~ Whereas a petition has been presented to the Mayor of the City of Sebastian, Florida, signed by more than one-third of the registered voters of said City, in which a request was made that an election be called in said city for the purpose of determining whether or not said city should surrender its franchise as a municipality corporation; and Whereas in obedience to the statute in such cases made and provided the Mayor of said City of Sebastian has duly issued his proclamation ordering an election to be held in said city on the 19th day of December, 1932, for the purpose of determining whether or not said city shall surrender its franchise as a manicipal corporation; therefore, Be It Resolved by the City Council of the City of Sebastian, Florida, that said election shall be held at the City Hall in said city on the 19th day of December, 1932, that the polls shall open at eight o'clock a.M. and close at sundown of said day, and that the following be, and they are, hereby named as inspectors and clerk to conduct said election; W. Lawson, Clerk Be it further resolved that only qualified registered voters of the City of Sebastian, Florida who have paid their poll tax for the years 19~0 and 19~1, and whose names duly appear on the list of registered voters of said city shall be permitted to vote at said election; and Be it further resolved that the following form of ballot shall be used in said election: Continuation of regular meeting of November 28, 1932 OFFICIAL BALLOT No ~pecial Election City of Sebastian, Florida, December 19, 193~ l~ake a X mark before the work "For" or "Against" as your choice may be. For surrender of the franchl se. ~aInst surrender of the franchise. Be it further resolved that the inspectors and clerk of said election shall certify the result thereof to the City Council of said City, who shall meet on the evening of December 19, 19~2, at the hour of eight o'clock p.m. for the purpose of canvassing said returns. Be it further resolved that the City Clerk of said City be, and she is hereby authorized and empowered to have five hundred ballots as herein provided printed for use in said election. The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilman Martin and being put to a vote was adopted as follows: Ayes: Nartin, Park, Hardee, Baughmau Nays: nome ~otion: made by Councilman Martin, seconded by Councilu~n Hardee that Councl i adjourn. ~otion carried.
