following were present, namely , Mr.J.~.Middleton , Mr.$imble~,
Mt. Smith and Mayor Shafor, absent were Mr.Bohannon and Mr,Turlington.
The purpose of the meeting ~-as to meet with the officers o~ the
local Post of The American Legion in their e,~forts to obtain a sit e
for building their Club House.
Mr. Frank Holluh addressed, Council in regards to securing
the land desired for the location of the building. Mayor Shafor m
was requested by Chmn. Middleton to determine what type of
building they ~ere planning to ~uild and their p~ans for same a~J
Mr. Peterson of the Legion discussed their plans for same,
playgrounds, shuffle boards etc. Suggestion was made By Peterson
that ~he land be leased to Legion for niney -nine years .
Mr. Sembler made motion to appoint committee of two to
accompay the American Legion committee to' consult with Atty.
Mitchell with power to act on Friday Dec .13 ,1946.
Motion was made to adjourn and was unanimously carried.
