The minutew of the regular meeting of November 24th and special meeting of
December 3rd were read and approved.
The returns of the general city Election held December 8th, 1930 in the City
of Sebastian, Florida signed by the Clerk and a majority of the inspectors of
said election were received by the City Council and filed by the City Clerk.
The City Council proceeded to canvass the returns and thereupon Councilman
Hicks, introduced the following Resolution:
RESOLUTION NO. 102
~hereas, it appears from the returns of the general city election held
December 8, 19Z0 duly' certified in duplicate by and delivered by such
inspectors and clerk to the City Clerk, and by her transmitted to the City
Council, that the votes cast at said elect~n were as follows, to-wit:
For Members of the City Council three to be elected.
R. G. Hardee received 32 votes
W. A. Martin " 31 "
S. A. Park " 30 "
and
Whereas, the City $ouncil has canvassed the returns and the results as shown
by the certificate of the Clerk and Inspectors of the elction aforesaid
and has found the same correct; therefore
Be It Resolved, that the results of the general City Election held in the
City of Sebastian, Florida on December ~th, 1930, be and the same is hereby
declared to be as follow,j: R. C. Hardee, U. A. Martin and S. A. Park, be
and they are hereby declared to have been duly elected Councilmen of the
City of Sebastian, l~orida, for the ensuing two years.
The foregoing resolution having been duly seconded by Councilman Bauglunan and
upon being put to a vote was adopted as follows:
Ayes: Councilmen Hicks, Baughman, Park, tlardee and Martin.
Nays: None.
Councilman Hicks, moved that Councilman Martin be appointed President ~f~',them
City Council; which was seconded by Councilman Hardee and carried by the
following vote: Ayes Councilmen Park, Hardee, Hicks, Bauglunan and Martin.
Nays: None.
Councilman Baughman moved that Councilman Hicks, be appointed President
pro rem; which was seconded by Councilman Hardee and carreid by the
following vote: Ayes Counci]nnan Hardee, Hicks, Pa~k, Martin and Baughman
Nays: None.
Chairman Hicks of the light Committee reported the Local Manager of the
Florida Power & Light Company was away and he could not .report on the
moving of the poles from private property.
MOTION: made by Councilman Hardee, seconded by Counci~nan Park, that City
of Sebastian retain James T. Vocelle as attorney for the ensuing yoar,
same a~reement as of the past year; which was carried by the following vote:
Ayes: ~ouncilmen Park, Hardee, Hicks, Baughman and Martin.
Nays: None.
The Attorney was instructed to write the President of the Florida East
Coast Railway Company asking them again to widen out the crossing over
its tracks to a width of thirty feet and contending for our 60 foot right of
way

Okey Bland appeared before the Council with reference to a service line being
placed to ~is apartment house in his subdivision. He stated that the Florida
Power & Light Company would not agree to give.him service unless he gave an
easement of four feet across his property and their conditions were so exacting
he could not agree to it. This question had been brought before the Council on a
previous occasion and it was thou'ght best by the Council to instruct the Clerk
to write ~.H. Ellis, Division Manager of the Company requesting ~n interview
and inspect~.on of the situation.
MotionE m~de by Councllman Baugh~an, seconded by Couneilman Park, that Council
ad journ.
Motion. carried.
