Meeting was called to order by chairman the roll called with the following members present:
Mayor Geo. T. Badger, Councilmen: Baughman, Vlckers, ~!urdoch, &try. Vocelle.
Minutes of meetings of July 19, Sept. 6, 7, and 30 were read and adopted.
Councilman Vickers introduced the following resolution:
Resolution
Be it resolved,that t~e budget of expenditures and disbursements of the ~ity of
Sebastian, Florida, for the fiscal year 1937-1938 be, and the same is hereby
fixed as follows:

Be it further resolved, that the City Council of the City of Sebastian does
determine that the amount to be raised for all municipal purposes for the fiscal year
1937-1938 by taxation for the year 1937, is the sum of $3,4~'.44 and that in order to provi
necessary funds for this purpose the rate of taxatio~ for the said city for the year
1937 shall be 20 mills on the dollar assessed v~lue of the,taxable property within
said city; l0 mills of said 20 mills being for the purpose of providing i~dm for
the general fund; l0 mills of said 20 mills being for the purpose of
and interest on the outstanding indebtednes of said city.
Be it further resolved, that the City attorney of said city be, and he is, hereby
instruct~d to p~epare ~ax ordinance herewith.
Said resolution being put to a vote by roll call was ad~pted as follows:

Councilman Vickers introduced an ordinance entitled: an Ordinance Providing For The
Levy of Taxes in the City of Sebastian, Florida, for the Year 1937 and moved that it
be read for the first time in full. Motion sedonded a~d ordinance read. Councilman
Murdoch moved ~hat it be read the 2nd time by title only. Eotion se~ded and
Ordinance. was read by title.Councilman Vickers moved that it be read by title and
put upon its p~ssage. Motion seconded and carried. Upon roll call was adopted
by the following Vote: Ayes: Baughman, Vickers,' ~urdoch. Mays: None.
Councilman Vickers made a motion that the regular meeting of the City Council be
the first ~uesday night in each month. Motion sedonded and carried.
Councilman Murdoch moved Zo adjourn. Motion seconded and carried.

Minutes of meetings of Oct. 4 and adjourned regular meeting Oct ll were read and
adopted. ~ ~
The following resolution was ~ntroduced 0y Councilman ~.lurdoch:~ereas, under the
ordinances and charter of the City of Sebastian, Florida, a general city election is
to 0e held in said city on the 13 day of Dec. 1937, for the purpose of electing a
Mayor and two memOers of the City Council of said city for a term of two years ~ach,
and whereas, petitions have been duly presented to the City Council of the City of
Sebastian, Florida, in accordance with law, signed by the requisite number of cualified
electors, requesting that the names of the following persons be placed on the ballot
as candidates for the office of Eayor and Councilmen: For Mayor: Geo. T. Badger.
For Councilmen: L. 0. Baughman, E. W. Vickers.
Therefore be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Sebastian, Florida, that
the above and foregoing names be placed on the official ballot to be voted at the
election to be hel~ in said city on the 13 day of December, 1937, and that the
following form of official b~llot be used:

Be It Further Resolved, that the City Clerk of said city be authorized and instructed
to have 200 ballo~s printed for use in said election in accordance with the
provisions of this resolution.
Be it further resolved that W.T. &tchley, ~. Foster and ~. A. Oow~r be, and they are
hereby named as inspectors and P.P.Lawson ~e, and he is hereby named as clerk ~o
conduct the said election to be held in said city on December 13, 1937,in accordance
with the provisions of law in such cases made and provided.
The forego~.ng resolution was duly seconded and upon being put to a vote was adopted
as follows:
Ayes: Baughman, rAckers, ~urdoch. Nays: None.
Councilman Vickers moved to adjourn to Dec. 13,1937, 7:30 PM. which was seconded
by Councilman Murdoch. Motion carried.

Meeting was called to order by ~hairman: Th~ roll called with the following members
present: Mayor Badger~ Councilmen: Baughman, Vickers, Murdoch, Arty Vocelle.
Visitor Councilman Luther of Vero Beach.
The returns of the general city election held at Sebastian, Indian SAver County,
Florida, on Dec. 13, 1937, signed by the Clerk and a majority of the inspectors
of said election.were received by the City Council and filed by the City Clerk.
The ~lty Council proceeded to canvass the returns and the result of said election
as show~ by said returns, and thereupon Councilman Murdoch introduced _the following
Resolution [7,,~
Whereas, it appears from the returns of the general City election held December 13,
1937, duly certified in duplicate by the clerk and a majority of the inspectors of
said election, and one delivered by such inspectors and clerk to the President of
the C~ty Council and the other to the City Clerk, and by him transmitted to the
City ~ouncil, that the votes cast at.said election were as follows:
For Mayor Geo. T. Badger received 15 votes
For members of the City Council (Two to be elected)
L. 0. Baughman received 14 votes, E. w. Vlckers received 13 votes, and,
~ereas, the City Council h~s canvassed the returns and the results as shown by the
certificate of the Clerk and inspectors of the election aforesaid and has found
the same cov. rect; therefore,
Be It ResolVed, that the results of the general city election held in the City of
Sebastian, ~lorida, on December 13, 1'937, be and the same are hereby declared to be
as follows: For Eayor Geo.T. Badger. For Councilmen: L.0.Baughman, E. ~. Vickers,
and that Geo. T. Badger be and he is hereby declared to have been duly elected as
Nayor of the ~ity of Sebastian, Florida, for the term of two years next ensuing,
and that L. 0. Baughmm~ and E. w. Vick®rsbbe, and they are hereby declared to have
been duly elected Councilmen of the City of Sebastian* Florida, for the ensuing
two years.
The foregoing resolution having been pu~ to avote was adopted as follows:
Ayes: Baughman, rackers, Murdoch. Nays: None.
Notary Public G. K. Murdoch administered oath of office to Ceo. T. Badger.
Mayor Badger administered oath of office to L. 0. Baughman and E. ~. Vlckers.
Councilman Vickers made a motion that L. 0. Baugkman be Sresident of City Council.
Eotion seconded and carried.
Councilman Murdoch made a motion that Councilman be President Pro-Tem. Motion
seconded and carried..
Councilman Vlckers made a motion that ~. G. Hamrick be City Clerk at a salary of
$10.00 per week and rent:that the City prepare and use an office in the Drug store
building. ~otion seconded and carried.
Councilman Vickers made a N~otion that J. T. ~rocelle be City .{try. at a salary of
$150.00 per year. Motion seconded and carried.
