To vote for any candidate make a cross ~rk (X) before the name of the candidate of your choice. For ~yor .---- For City Councilmen. (Vote for two) Be It Further Resolved, that the City Clerk of said cil~y be '~uthorized and instructed to have 200 ballots printed for use in said election in accordance with the provisions of this resolution. Be it further resolved that ~.T. Atchley, k. Foster and ~':. A. Oow~r be, and they are hereby named as inspectors and P.P.Lawson .be, and he is hereby named as clerk .to conduct the said election to be held in said city on December 13, 1937,in accordance with the provisions of law in such cases made and provided. The foregoing resolution was duly seconded and upon being put to a vote vJas adopted as follows: Ayes: Baughman, Wickers, l~urdoch. Nays: None. Councilman Vickers moved to ad3ourn to Dec. 13,1.c37, 7:30 PM. which was seconded by Councilman Muvdoch. Motion carried. Chairman Clerk Adjourned regular Meeting Dec. 13, 1937. Meeting was called to order by ~hairman: Ths roll called with the following members present: Mayor Badger~ Councilmen: Baughman, Vickers, Murdoch, ktty Vocelle. Visitor Councilman Luther of Vero Beach. The returns of ~he general city election held at Sebastian, Indian River County, Florida, on Dec. 13, 1937, signed by the Clerk and a majority of the inspectors of said election.were received by the City Council and filed by the City Clerk. The Gity Council proceeded to canvass the returns and the result of said election as show5 by said returns, and thereupon Councilman Murdoch introduced _the following Resolution Whereas, it appears from the returns of the general City election held December 13, 1937, duly certified in duplicate by the clerk and a majority of the inspectors of said election, and one delivered by such inspectors and clerk to the President of the City Council and the other to the City ~lerk, and by him transmitted to the City 4ouncil, that the votes cast at.said election were as follows: For Mayor Geo. T. Badger received 15 votes For members of the City Council (Two to be elected) L. 0. Baughman received 14 votes, ~.~..... Vickers received 13 votes, and, 7thereas, the City Council h~s canvassed the returns and the r.~:~sults as shown by the certificate of the Clerk and Inspectors of the election aforesaid and has found the same co~rect; therefore, Be It ResolVed, that the results of the general city election held in the City of Sebastian, Wlorida, on December 13, t937, be and the same are hereby declared to be as follows: For Mayor Geo.T. Badger. For Councilmen: L.0.Baugkman, E. ~. Vickers, and that Geo. T. Badger be and he is hereby declared to have been duly elected as ~ayor of the ~ity of Sebastian, Florida, for the term of two years next ensuing, and that L. 0. Baugtmnan and E. ,~. Vick®.rsi~be, and they are hereby declared to have been duly elected Councilmen of the City of Sebastiano Florida, for the ensuing two years. The foregoing resolution hav~ng been put to a. vote was adopted as follows: kyes: Baughman, Wickers, Murdoch. Nays: None. Notary Public G. K. Murdoch administered oath of office to Ceo. T. Badger. Mayor Badger administered oath of office to L. 0. Baughman and E. ~. Vickers. Councilman Vickers made a motion that L. 0. Baughman be ~resident of City Council. Motion seconded and carried. Councilman Murdoch made a motion that Councilman be President Pro-Tem. Motion seconded and carried.. Councilman Vickers made a motion that F. G. Hamrick be City Cl~rk at a salary of $10.00 per week and rent:that the City prepare and use an office in the Drug store building. Motion seconded and carried. Councilman Vickers made a N~otion that J. T. Vocelle be City ~try. at a salary of $150.00 per year. Motion. seconded and carried. ?he following committees were reappointed: 474 Finance: E W. Vickers, Chm. G. K. Murdoch B. N. Brown ~treet and alley G.K. ~urdoch Chm. J. B. Mays B. N. Brown Light & Power; J. B. Mays,Chm. E. w. Vickers G. K. Murdoch Rentals: E. W. Vlckers, Chm B. N. Brown J. B. Mays Sanitary: B. N.,Brown, Chm. Grove: E. W. Vickers, Chm J. B. ~ays G. Ko ~urdoch G. K. Murdoch J.B. Mays. Councilman Murdoch made a motion that H. G. Deppen be employed as City Engineer for the ensuing year at a salary of ~l.00. ~otion seconded and carried. Councilman Murdoch moved to adjourn. Motion seconded and carried. Clerk Regular meeting Jan. 3, 1938. Meeting adjourned for lack of a quorem, - ~h~rman ..... U .......... Councilman Murdoch made a motion that the ~.{ayor and City' Clerk bo authorized to execute option for the s~le to Sebastian inlet Commissioners such land as is necessary in Hardee's subdivision block 2 at and for the sum of $10.00,said option to extend for a period of six months. Motion seconded and carried. Councilman Brown introduced the following Resolution ~hereas, it appears in the assessment of taxes of the property of J. A. Moss years of 19~5, 1936, 1937, in the City of Sebastian, clerical ~rrors were made whereby the amount of said taxes wer~-~ comput~d .~ ....... ~;~ 20.00 e:~ch year when s.~e should have been ~14.00 e~ch year. Therefore be it resolved, that the City tax O011ector Oe and he is, hereby, authorized and empowered to make the necessary corrections and to refund overcharge on account of said clerical errors. The motion for its adoption was duly seconded. ~otion carried. Councilman Murdoch moved to adjourn. Motion duly seconded and carried. Clerk
