The minutes of the regular meeting of November 23rd and special meeting of
November 27 and special meeting of December 9th were read and approved.
The returns of the general city election held December 14, 1931 in the
City of Sebastian, Florida signed by the Clerk and a majority of the
inspectors of said election were received by the City Council and filed by the
City Clerk.
The City Council proceeded to canvasx the returns and thereupon Councilman
Park introdueed the following resolutidn seconded by Councilman Martin.
RESOLUT?¢N NO. ~1 ~
Whereas, it appears from the returns of the general city election held
December 14, 1931 duly certified in duplicate by and delivered by such
inspectors and clerk to the City Clerk, and by her transmitted to :he
City Council, that the votes cast at said election were as follows, to-wit:
Fer.~Mayor:
Geo. T. Badger received 32 votes
For Member of the City Council two to be
elected.
L. 0. Baughman received 35 votes
T. B. Hicks received 32 votes
And
Whereas, the City COuncil has canvassed the returns and the results as
shown by the certificate of the Clerk and Inspectors of 'the election
aforesaid and has found the same correct; therefore
Be It Resolved, that the results of the general City Electic~n held in the
City of Sebastian, Florida on December 14, 1931~ be and the same is
hereby declared to have been duly elected as fellows:
For Mayor:
Geo. T. Badger
For Councilmen: L. 0. Bauglmman
T. B. Hicks.
and that George T. Badger, be and he is hereby declared to hav~ been duly
electe~ Mayor for the City of Sebastian for the term of two years next
ensuing and that L. 0. Baug%~man and T. B. Hicks be, and they are hereby
declared to have been duly elected.
The foregoing resolution having been put to a vote was adopted as
follows:
Ayes: Park, Baughman Martin and Hicks.
Nays: None.
Mayor Badger made a report on his committees work in their efforts to
secure the placing $f the spoil bank from the dredge work in the river placed on
the ~ast side instead of the west side of the channel. The Mayor reports that
the contractorm will change the pipe next Sunday December 20.
Continuation of regular meeting of December 14, 193t.
The County school board represented by G. Barkoskie and C. Vanderveer and the
~ocal trustees J. Do Yongue, Chas. Taylor, and Bruce Ryall met with the
Council to consider deeding the old school property to the City of Sebastian.
After considerable discussion it was agreed that the local trustees are to
meet the County t~oard next Monday December 21, and then together they are to formulate
a plan.
Re-orginazition of the Council was deferred until next regular meeting.
A letter from the Governor of the State of Florida was read and filed as
transacted closed as far as council concerned.
Motion: made 'by Councilman Park, seconded 'by Councilman ~aughman that
Council adjourn.
Motion carried.
