Honorable City Councilmen, City of Sebastian, Florida gentlemen: I hereby call a special meeting of the City Council to meet at the City Hall ?:50 o'clock Monday night December 19, 1932 for the purpose of canvassing the rose of the special election; also discussing and considering Mrs. Braswell's request, truck transportation and the appointing of committees. Vocelle The returns of the special city election held in the City of Sebastian, Florida, on the 19th day of December, 1952, for the purpose of determining whether or not the said city shall surrender its franchise, signed by the clerk and a majority of the inspectors of said election, were received by the City Council and filed by the City Clerk. The Council proceeded to canvass the returns and the result of said election, and thereupon Councilman Baughman introduced the following resolution: RESOLUTION NO. t ~,~ ~ Whereas, it appears from the returns of the special city election held in the City of Sebastian, Florida, on the 19th day of December, 1932, duly certified by the clerk and a majority of the inspectors of said election and delivered by such inspectors and clerk to the City. Clerk and by her transmitted to the City Council, that there was a total of 132 votes cast at said election and that of said total there were cast for surrender of the franchise 58 votes and ~galnst surrender of the franchise 76 votes; and Whereas, it appears from the returns of said election that two-thirds of those voting at said election did not vote in favor of the surrender of the franchise of the City of Sebastian; b~ it therefore Resolved by the City Council of the City of Sebastian, Florida, that it is. hereby certified and declared that at the special election held in the City of Sebastian, Florida, on the 19th day of December, 1932, for the purpose of determining whether or not said city shall surrender its franchise, that of the total of 132 votes cast at said election 76 were not in favor of the sArrender of the franchise of said city, which said number it is certified and determined constitutes two-thirds of those voting; it is further Resolved that the result of said election was not in favor of the surrender of the franchise of said City of Sebastian, and it is so certified, determined and declared by the City Council of said city. Baugkman After discussing Mrs. Esther Braswell's request regarding the shed on the Peacock house it was decided that since Mr. Glasgow is chairman of the rental committee that he take the matter up with Mrs. Braswell. Councilman Baugh~n discussed the loading limit of trucks traveling on Louisiana Avenue. This was referred to the Chairman of the Street and Alley Committee, any action, however, on this matter was deferred until next regular meeting. Motion: made by Councilman Vlokers, seconded by Councilman Fields,that Council adJourn. Mot i on carried. ~
