Special Meeting called by Mayor Mlddleton to discuss the payment of interest on Bonds-at S % and also to transfer ~400.00 from the General ~lmd to the Sinking · Und in ~rder to make the pa~nnent.,whereby it was moved by Councilman Park and seconded byCouncllman Letchworth to pay said intrest. Minutes of regular meeting of vecember BOth, and special meeting of December ~.Sth. were approved as read. Wills amounting to ~.~4.6~ qpproved by the finance committee were ordered paid on motion by Councilman Letchworth which was seconded by Councilman Park.uarried. A letter from the Florida League Of Municipalities was read,asking the City of Sebastian to become a member of said organization,dues being ten dollars a year. it was moved by Councilman Letchworth and seconded by Councilman ,;llingsen to addopt resolution cotering the mambership of said organization. ..... ~en dollar dues to be forwarded to Florida League of Municipalities with copy of said r esolut ion. Carr led. under ccanaittee reports the uhair called for report on the fire at Yalkaria. A large cottage in the rear of Mr c.L.Smlth's residence was dlstroyed account of oil heater exploding with damage of between~3500.00 and 5000.00.The Sebastian arrived on the scean twelve minutes after being called and savedthree other buildings. Mr u.E.Taylor presented the City with ~ed for the Sebastian Cemetary and expressed appreciation of the old uemetary Committee 1~o? the City for taking over the upReep and maintaining the uemetary. Mr and Mrs Jenkins presented application for building permit to erect home on lot of replat of lots lo to 18 inclusive,~araddock S/D of Guy. Mayor Middleton and Councilmen Sembler,Letchwor~h,W. llingsen and Park present with ~resident Anderson absent and President Protem Sembl~?":presidlng. Mr ¥ocelle being introduced to the members of the 0ity 0ouncil was informed,that due to the loss of our City Attorney uharles A.~Zitchell the City was in need of legal council to take his place.mr ¥'ocel£e was asked if he would represent the Uity of Sebastian in that capaeity~ ¥oce,lle told the ulty uouncil that he would accept the appointment of City Attorney,whezeby it uwas moved by uouncllm~n Park and ~econded by Oouncilman ~llingsen to hire Mr ¥ocelle.Carried. The question came up as to a new poIice car and Councilman Letchworth presented two bids for same,Florida Motors from ¥'ero and Bernitt Motors from Melbourhe. It was moved by Councilma~ Park and seconded by Cguncilman Elllngsen to accept the bid from Bernltt Motors from Melbourne,their bid being low as follows, Cost of car to City $1780.00 and allowing $1ZO0.O0 for the old car. making it $580.00 and with extra equipment added bringing the cost to $1104.00 or might be a little less if an allowance for the tubes from the original tires could be counted in place of the life guard tubes.Txtra cost were Transportation ~159 .00 ,handling 30 . 00 , heavy duty air cleaner,~.'.40~h~aVy d~ty'~'~il'fllter $.00,~A Lux steering wheel $1Z.O0,Sea foam rubber cushions$~O.OO,good plastic seat covers $$5 .00 ,Spot lights 25.00,Electric clock $15.~0~ Hydromatic transmission $150.00 and five life guard tubes $15.00 each with a possible refund on the original tubes which come with the car which would make the cost less. 0clot picked for car Metalic Green.Motion 0arried.
