PRESENT: PAT FLOOD, JR. , ROBERT FITZMAURICE, JOSEPH LANCASTER, JOHN VAN ANTWERP. ALSO PRESENT: DENNIS SMITH, LYNN MYERS. ! MAYOR FLOOD ADVISED THAT THE FOLLOWING THREE BIDS WERE RECEIVED FOR PAINTING OF AIRPORT RUNWAYS: DENNIS SMITH, VERO BEACH - $6,475.00 FLORIDA STRIPING, MELBOURNE - $4,900.00 L. M. SERVICE CO., SEBASTIAN- $3,680.00 DURING DISCUSSION OF THE BIDS, IT WAS POINTED OUT THAT IN THE NOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE IT WILL BECOME NECESSARY TO RE-SURFACE THE AIRBORT, WHICH, IN TURN, WOULD REQUIRE RE-STRIPING. MOTION BY VICE MAYOR FITZMAURICE, SECONDED BY MR. VAN ANTWERP, TO ACCEPT THE LOW BID OF L. M. SERVICE COMPANY IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIEICATIONS. CARRIED. MR. MYERS STATED HE WOULD BE ABLE TO START WITHIN 30 DAYS AND WOULD WORK WiTH MR. VAN ANTWERP TO COMPLETE THE JOB SATISFACTORILY. MEETING ADJOURNED AT 10:38 A.M. WORK SHALL BE SCHEDULED IN SUCH A MANNER AS TO KEEP ONE RUNWAY OPEN TO AIRCRAFT TRAFFIC. CONTRACTOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REMOVAL OF ANY SAND AND PRE- PARE THE SURFACE TO PAINT.
