PRESENT: EDWARD PALUCH, MICHAEL KENNEY, EARL MASTELLER, ROGER COOPER, CHAIRMAN ROBERT MORROW, EX-OFFICIO MEMBER JOHN VAN ANTWERP. ABSENT: KENNETH MEGUIN (EXC.), RENE VAN DE VOORDE MR. MASTELLER REQUESTED THAT THE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD HELD ON MARCH 31 BE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS: ADD AT END OF 6TH PARAGRAPH: "THE AIRPORT MANAGER WAS INSTRUCTED TO CHECK INTO THE FEASIBILITY OF RENTING A SWEEPER FOR A TRIAL RUN." MR. COOPER REQUESTED THAT THE MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD WITH THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION HELD ON MARCH 31 BE AMENDED AS FOLLOWS: "MR. COOPER READ AN EXCERPT FROM THE QUIT CLAIM DEED (PAGE 5, PARAGRAPH 2 - SEE ATTACHED). HE STATED A CASE COULD BE MADE THAT THE CITY HAS NOT FULFILLED ITS CONTRACTURAL OBLIGATIONS SINCE THE AIRPORT HAS NOT BEEN MAINTAINED IN GOOD AND SERVICEABLE CONDITION." MOTION BY MR. PALUCH, SECONDED BY MR. COOPER, TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING AND THE SPECIAL MEETING HELD ON MARCH 31, AS AMENDED. CARRIED. OPERATING STATEMENT FOR THE PERIOD ENDING MARCH 31 WAS VERY BRIEFLY DISCUSSED. MR. VAN ANTWERP REPORTED THAT HE CANNOT FIND ANY SWEEPER FOR RENT. THERE IS AN ELECTRIC BROOM AVAILABLE FROM TWO DIFFERENT COMPANIES AT A COST OF $35.00 PER HOUR. IF THE WHOLE AREA IS SWEPT, WOULD COST ABOUT $1500. THE PRICE TO BUY A SWEEPER IS $30-40,000. PLUS SOMEONE TO OPERATE IT PLUS MAINTENANCE. MOTION BY MR.. PALUCH, SECONDED BY MR. COOPER, TO HIRE TRODGLEN AT $35. PER HOUR TO SWEEP THE RUN-UP AND TAKE'OFF AREAS OF BOTH RUNWAI'S, AND TAKE PICTURES BEFORE AND AFTER. ROLL CALL VOTE: AYES: MR. KENNEY MR. PALUCH MR. COOPER MR. MASTELLER CHAIRMAN MORROW NAYS: NONE. CARRIED. MR. VAN ANTWERP ADVISED HE IS STILL WAITING FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT TO FIX THE POTHOLES. THEY ARE SHORTHANDED AND CANNOT GIVE HIM A TIME FRAME. HE WILL LOOK INTO THE POSSIBILITY OF GETTING AN OUTSIDE COMPANY TO DO. FOUR APPLICATIONS WERE RECEIVED FOR THE POSITION OF ALTERNATE MEMBER: FRED MENSING LLOYD RONDEAU THEODORE AHNEMAN JOSEPH CHAPMAN MR. MENSING WAS THE ONLY APPLICANT NOT PRESENT. THOSE PRESENT WERE INTERVIEWED BY MEMBERS OF THE BOARD. MR. PALUCH NOMINATED MR. CHAPMAN. MR. MASTELLER NOMINATED MR. RONDEAU. MR. MASTELLER NOMINATGED MR. AHNEMAN. MOTION BY MR. KENNEY, SECONDED BY MR. PALUCH, TO CLOSE NOMINATIONS. CARRIED. ROLL CALL VOTE: MR. KENNEY, MR. PALUCH, MR. COOPER - CHAPMAN MR. MASTELLER, CHAIRMAN MORROW - RONDEAU VOTE 3 TO2 FOR JOSEPH CHAPMAN MEETING ADJOURNED 5:20 P.M. - 2 - Amendment to Minutes of Special Meeting of Airport Advisory Board with City Council and Planning and' ~Commission Members held on March 31198.~~7 MR. COOPER READ EXCERPT FROM THE QUIT CLAIM DEED GRANTING THE AIRPORT TO THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN FROM THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (See Page 5, Paragraph 2 attached). HE STATED A CASE COULD BE MADE THAT THE CITY HAS NOT FULFILLED ITS CONTRACTURAL OBLIGATIONS SINCE THE AIRPORT HAS NOT BEEN MAINTAINED IN GOOD AND SERVICEABLE CONDITION.
