MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY CHAIRMAN EDWARD PALUCH AT 4:00 P.M.
PRESENT: CHAIRMAN EDWARD PALUCH, GEORGE METCALF, KENNETH MEGUIN, MICHAEL KENNEY,
ROGER COOPER, EX-OFFICIO MEMBER JOHN VAN ANTWERP.
ABSENT: RENE VAN DE VOORDE, ROBERT MORROW, EARL MASTELLER (ALL EXCUSED)
MOTION BY MR. COOPER, SECONDED BY MR. METCALF, TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE
MEETING OF APRIL 29. CARRIED.
THERE WAS NO DISCUSSION ON THE OPERATING STATEMENT FOR THE PERIOD ENDING 4/30/86.
MR. VAN ANTWERP IS HOPING TO PROCURE THE USE OF A SWEEPER SHORTLY. RUNWAYS HAVE
BEEN MOWED. HERBICIDE HAS NOT YET BEEN PUT DOWN. THE SUB-LEASE BETWEEN JOHN
VALENTINE AND VELOCITY AIRCRAFT HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF.
MOTION BY MR. MEGUIN, SECONDED BY MR. METCALF, TO RECOMMEND THAT THE CITY COUNCIL
APPROVE GILBERT SWIGER'S APPLICATION FOR LEASE OF AIRPORT PROPERTY AS SOON AS
POSSIBLE, PROVIDED IT COMPLIES WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE AIRPORT MASTER PLAN.
CARRIED.
MR. VAN ANTWERP INFORMED EVERYONE THAT THE STATE HAS MADE AVAILABLE MATCHING FUNDS
FOR T-HANGAR CONSTRUCTION. A DECISION WILL HAVE TO BE MADE SOMEWHERE DOWN THE
LINE AS TO WHETHER THE CITY WANI~ TO GET INTO THE T-HANGAR BUSINESS. $200,000.
HAS BEEN SET ASIDE, SHOULD THE CITY DECIDE TO DO THIS.
MR. VAN ANTWERP STATED THAT IN PREPARING THE 1986-87 THERE ARE SOME EXPENDITURES
WHICH SHOULD BE CONSIDERED. R[~WAY 3313 IS DETERIORATING RAPIDLY AND SHOULD HAVE
A SLURRY SEAL PUT ON. THE STATE MIGHT SUPPLY MATCHING FUNDS. SHOULD DO SOME
CLEARING AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS ON THE CLEAR ZONES AND LATERAL AREAS OF THE
RUNWAYS SO THEY CAN BE MAINTAINED WITH A TRACTOR. THE RUNWAY APPROACHES AND
INTERSECTING CORNERS SHOULD BE CLEARED. A NEW WIND T IS NEEDED. PROBABLY COULD
GET STATE MATCHING F~DS FOR THE WIND T AND FOR VASI SINCE THESE ARE CONSIDERED
SAFETY ITEMS. MR. VAN ANTWERP WAS ASKED TO DRAW UP A LIST OF PRIORITIES.
CHAIRMAN PALUCH READ THE FOLLOWING MOTION WHICH WAS PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL:
MOTION BY COUNCILMAN VALLONE, SECONDED BY VICE MAYOR ROTH, TO ACCEPT THE ADVICE!
OF THE AIRPORT ADVISORY COMMITTEE THAT THE CITY REPAIR THE ROAD A$'TER THE GOLF
CART PATHS ARE FINISHED AND REQUEST THAT THE MONEY BE TAKEN OUT OF AIRPORT FUNDS.
CHAIRMAN PALUCH READ INTO THE RECORD A LETTER FROM SEBASTIAN AE, RO SERVICES COM-
MENDING MR. 7AN ANTWERP FOR HIS EFFORTS IN TAKING CARE OF A ROAD PROBLEM PROMPTLY.
MR. COOPER MENTIONED THERE WERE ABOUT 10 PLANES PARKED IN THE CITY RAMP WHICH
APPARENTLY ARE NOT PAYING RENT AND MR. VAN ANTWERP WILL CHECK INTO THIS.
