PRESENT: VICE CHAIRMAN FRANK DE JOIA, KENNETH MEGUIN, RENE VAN DE VOORDE, ROBERT MORROW, GEORGE METCALF, EX-OFFICIO MEMBER JOHN VAN ANTWERP. ABSENT: EDWARD PALUCH (EXCUSED), EARL MASTELLER, MICHAEL KENNEY. MOTION BY MR. MEGUIN, SECONDED BY MR. MORROW, TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 2~. CARRIED. MOTION BY MR. VAN DE VOORDE, SECONDED BY MR. MORROW, TO APPROVE THE OPERATING STATEMENT FOR THE PERIOD ENDING SEPTEMBER 30. CARRIED. AIRPORT MANAGER'S REPORT: STILL WAITING TO RECEIVE REPLACEMENT LIGHTS. SHELL ROCK HAS BEEN PUT ON AIRPORT DRIVE WEST. STILL NEEDS A BETTER CROWN AND DRAINAGE. AIRPORT IS IN PROCESS OF BEING MOWED AND MR. VAN ANTWERP IS DISCUSSING WITH THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT THE ENLARGING OF THE AREA TO BE MOWED. HE HAS ASKED MR. KRAGES TO CHECK THE KIND OF HERBICIDE VERO BEACH AIRPORT IS CURRENTLY USING TO SEE WHETHER OR NOT IT WOULD CONTAMINATE THE GOLF COURSE WATER. HE INDICATED HIS INTEREST IN ATTENDING TWO MEETINGS IN ORLANDO - FLORIDA AIRPORT MANAGERS ASSOCIATION ON NOVEMBER 13, FAA .ANNUAL ADVISORY MEETING ON NOVEMBER 14, 15. MR. VAN ANTWERP ADVISED THAT THE FAA WILL NOT ACCEPT THE APPRAISER'S REPORT UNTIL THE COMPARATIVE RATES ARE BROUGHT TO WITHIN 10% OF THE FAIR MARKET VALUE. HE EXPECTS MR. WITHERBY TO HAVE THE NEW APPRAISAL READY WITHIN ANOTHER WEEK. MASTER PLANNING GRANTS HAVE BEEN RELEASED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO THE FAA IN ORLANDO. FAA HAS NOT SAID'THEY WON'T GO AHEAD WITH THE GRANT, SINCE GOOD FAITH IS BEING SHOWN BY THE PAYMENTS ALREADY MADE BY THE GOLF COURSE, BUT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE THIS WHOLE MATTER RESOLVED. MOTION BY MR. METCALF, SECONDED BY MR. MORROW, TO APPROVE MR. VAN ANTWERP'S ATTENDANCE AT THE TWO MEETINGS IN ORLANDO. CARRIED. REGARDING THE REQUEST OF SEBASTIAN AERO SERVICES FOR ADDITIONAL PARKING AREA, MR. VAN ANTWERP STATED THAT IN ACCORDANCE WITH ADVICE OF ATTORNEY PALMER, A LETTER WAS WRITTEN TO MR. JOHNSON REQUESTING HIM TO DRAW UP A LEASE AMENDMENT. SINCE MR. JOHNSON HAS NOT TAKEN ANY ACTION, MR. VAN ANTWERP WILL CONTACT HIM AGAIN. THERE WAS A DISCUSSION RE S~.'LF-FUELING OF AIRCRAFT AND THR FORMATION OF THE AIRPORT SAFETY COMMITTEE. MR. VAN ANTWERP WILL INVITE MR. JACK COOPER TO B~.'COM~; THE PILOT MEMBER. MR. VAN DE VOORDE REQUEST~.'D THAT THE AIRPORT SAFETY COMMITTEE - SELF-FUELING - BE AN AGENDA ITEM NEXT MONTH. MR. VAN DE VOORDE REQUESTED THAT THE FAA GRANT AND THE GOLF COURSe: L~.'AS~: BOTH B~: MADE AGENDA ITEMS EACH MONTH UNTIL THESE MATTERS AR~' RESOLVED. MEETING ADJOURNED AT 5:02 P.M.
