Caniglio called the meeting to order at 3:18 pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was said. ROLL CALL: PRES�NT: VC Kautenburg Adrina Davis JaAnn Osmundson Julianne Barrett Ch. Coniglio Jayne Barczyk(a) �XCUSED ABSENCE: Inez Fielding and Betsy Connelly ALSO PRESENT: Nancy Veidt, Finance Department Ann Brack, Secretary Debbie Krueger, Accountant ANNOUNCEMENTS: Chmn. Coniglio announced that the concert at the Middle School will be held an December 14, 2000, and not on July 14th, as previously listed. He asked that a letter of confirmation be sent to the Middle School. Th� Secretary annaunced that Inez Fielding and Betsy Connelly have excused absences. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: (6/13/00) MOTION by Barczyk(a)IDavis I mov� that we adopt June 13th minutes. A vaice vote was taken. 5— 0, motion carried. NEW BUSINESS: A. Invitation to attend staff ineeting on 7/13/00 Chmn. Coniglio noted that this invitation is in reference to the Op�n House planned for July 25, 2Q00 at City Hall. This will be an opportunity for the Committee members to meet all of the Department heads, and to exchange ideas for the Open House. After discussion, it was determined that those members that can attend should arrive about 10:00 am. � ' � . C� 75th ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING QF JUNE 27, 2000 OLD BUSINESS: A. General discussion of events: In response to a questian from Julianne Barrett, Chmn. Coniglio noted that Riverview Park will not be used by this Committee for the Street Party — Juried Art 5how in December. The Park will be available far use by the Sebastian River Art Club. The Chairman then introduced Lisanne Monier, 1125 U.S. 1, Sebastian, who co-chairs the Juried Art Show portion of the Street Party. Lisanne stressed how important it is that this event be changed to a later date since the artists invalved are already booked for Dec. 1& 2. There was discussion on this subject, alternate dat�s were considered, and it was d�termined to reschedule it on December 16�h & 17th. Lisanne also commented that if this art show is successful, it will open the door for additional shows in the future. It was determined to invite the Iocal art club to have their show along with the Committee's 5tre�t Party, which would eliminate any canflict. Chmn. Coniglio nated that consideration is being given to providing transportation from Beal's Plaza and the CAV-Cor parking lots to the Street Party, since parking will be the big problem. Lisanne reminded everyone there is always U.S. 1. There was discussion about the hours of duration for this event, such as from 10:00 am � till 5:00 pm, at which time the parade would start, Lisanne noted that each artist would need appraximately 11 or 12 feet each. The areas would be marked off, she will make up an assignment list, and she may do up a small program. It was noted that there are no residences in the subject area. Chmn. Coniglio commented that all business in the area have granted their permission, but a farmal notification will b� sent. � It was commented that if this event is succ�ssful this y�ar, an attempt may be made to have it again the same time n�xt year. Debbie provided input on the order and all members were satisfied. Chmn. Coniglio reminded everyane abaut the following: July 1St Mesa Park, Sale of T-shirts & Caps, Historical Display 2 k, ` . � 75r" ANNIVERSARY COMMITTEE � MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF JUNE 27, 2000 � A suggestion was made to place a notice in the newspap�r that this Anniversary Committee will be in attendance at Mesa Park on 7/1/00. Julianne noted that same of the new T-shirts, caps, and ariginal shirts will be ready to sell at Mesa Park. Louise noted that the Histarical Society will have postcards far sale. July 4'"' - The same activities above will take place at Riverview Park. VC Kautenburg congratulated Chmn. Coniglio on his presentation to City Council. Julianne commented that she found another Company that sells City Clocks. She abtained a catalog with prices, and passed around same of the infarmatian. There was some discussian on what d�tails are necessary far bidding. It was also suggested that a request cauld be made for a representative ta give us a presentation. The Chairman suggested contacting NASA for recommendations an longevity of materials and maintenance needs. Julianne agreed to do this. It was also suggested that the clock companies be contacted for a written quot�. July 13th - 10:00 am, staff meeting July 25th - Open Hause, 1:00 to 4:30 pm. Jayne B. reported that feedback to her on the issue of the City Clock has been very � positive, except far the location. It was suggested that this Board establish three sites already owned by the City for the public to choose from. It was noted that the center af tawn was the ariginal thought that influenced the present suggested location at Main Street. There was more discussion on this subject. It was sugg�sted that a list of available sites needs to be obtained, and Jayne B. volunteered to obtain this list. At this point, the Cammitt�� members worked on dividing the list of businesses to be contacted about the sponsor program for the Anniversary projects. It was nated that the paver brick program has nat b�en developed as yet, and should not be presented at this time. There was discussion on the proper manner t� be used to place the name of Disney on a banner. The list of names was divided. Nancy V. noted that she obtained two sources for memorial paver bricks fram the internet. She agreed to get a third source and have this informatian ready for the next phase of the City Clock project. The Chairman commented that Terry Hill needs to be involved and a design drawn up so we know what size bricks will be needed. Nancy will proceed with obtaining the infarmation. She also noted that mini-bricks are available. Julianne noted that by the end af the week, she should have a replica of the clock to b� • available far sample viewing on July 1S` and 4t". She also noted that the food variety is larger than ever. Louise asked that a"Garden Host" be requested from the Tree Advisory 8oard for the July 25th Open House to explain the Model Planting autside Council Chambers.
