CraZ.&: PRESENT: Chairman Gilliams Mrs. Kostenbader Mr. Nicolini Mr. Metcalf Mr. Generazio Mr. Neglia ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Steven Lulich, Board Attorney APPROVAl, OF MINU~E~: Mr. Generazio made a motion to accept the minutes of April 19, 1995 as written. Mr. Metcalf seconded the motion. Roll call was taken. 6-0 motion approved. ATTORNEY[~ MATTERS~ OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: None RECOMMENDATION TO CITY COUNCIL - REVIEW AND APPLICATIONS FOR BOARD POSITIONS INTERVIEW OF Chmn. Gilliams reviewed that the City Council had looked at previous applications and decided to send them back to the Code Enforcement Board and require advertising again to receive a better selection of applicants. Applicants present were: Mr. Dave Costa, Mr. Steven Munchak, Mr. Ken Cosco, Mr. Nell Duval, Mr. Albert Goelz, and Mr. Carl Anderson. Applicants not present were Mr. Robert Pruitt, Jr., and Mr. Michael Fitzpatrick. CODE. ENFORCEMENT BOARD REGULAR MEETING OF JUNE 21, 1995 PAGE TWO The Secretary relayed a message from Mr. Fitzpatrick that he could not be present at the meeting and was· still interested in being considered for the Board but, could not be available until September. Mr. Generazio stated he felt any further reviews of any appliCations.should be done in protest. He maintained there was no reason for City Council not to appoint their previous three recommendations for the three open positions. He relayed to the Board that Mr. May (previous recommended applicant) withdrew his application because of this. Another recommended applicant wasalso upset Mr. Neglia stated, he also felt something was amiss with the situa{ion~ He personally thought it was political and stated he is reviewing the applications again under protest too. Mr. Metcalf stated he also agreed and would like to re-submit the previous three recommendations to City Council again. Chmn. Gilliams stated he felt. City Council had the right to review any and all applications and if they requested the Board to re- advertise and review, he thought the Board should follow through on that request. He noted for the record that some members were doing so under protest but, felt it was only fair to all the applicants present to again review and interview all the applications. Mr. Lulich told the Board that one applicant, Mr. Carl Anderson, was a part-time city employee, and according to Florida Statute 112.313(10) would not be able to be appointed to the Board and therefore coUld.not be considered for a position. The>Board proceeded to interview all the present applicants. When interviewed, Mr. Munchak withdrew his application, stating he applied because of being curious but realized he was unqualified and was stepping out. Mr. Generazio made a motion to recommend Mr. Dave Costa for the Resident Position. Mr. Nicolini seconded the motion. Roll call was taken. Mr. Generazio made a motion to recommend Mr. A1 Goelz as the 1st Alternate member. Mr. Neglia seconded the motion. Roll call was taken. Mrs. Kostenbader YES Mr. Nicolini YES Mr. Metcalf YES Mr. Generazio YES Mr. Neglia YES Chmn. Gilliams YES The motion was approved 6-0. Mr. Neglia made a motion., to recommend Mr. Neil Duval for the 2nd Alternate position. Mr. Generazio seconded the motion. Roll call was taken. Gilliams thanked Mrs. Kostenbader for her time given to the Code Enforcement Board and wished her luck in the future.
