The Secretary relayed a message from Mr. Fitzpatrick that he could
not be present at the meeting and was· still interested in being
considered for the Board but, could not be available until
September.
Mr. Generazio stated he felt any further reviews of any
appliCations.should be done in protest. He maintained there was no
reason for City Council not to appoint their previous three
recommendations for the three open positions. He relayed to the
Board that Mr. May (previous recommended applicant) withdrew his
application because of this. Another recommended applicant wasalso
upset
Mr. Neglia stated, he also felt something was amiss with the
situa{ion~ He personally thought it was political and stated he is
reviewing the applications again under protest too.
Mr. Metcalf stated he also agreed and would like to re-submit the
previous three recommendations to City Council again.
Chmn. Gilliams stated he felt. City Council had the right to review
any and all applications and if they requested the Board to re-
advertise and review, he thought the Board should follow through on
that request. He noted for the record that some members were doing
so under protest but, felt it was only fair to all the applicants
present to again review and interview all the applications.
Mr. Lulich told the Board that one applicant, Mr. Carl Anderson,
was a part-time city employee, and according to Florida Statute
112.313(10) would not be able to be appointed to the Board and
therefore coUld.not be considered for a position.
The>Board proceeded to interview all the present applicants. When
interviewed, Mr. Munchak withdrew his application, stating he
applied because of being curious but realized he was unqualified
and was stepping out.
