Chairman called the meeting to order at 8:05 PM delayed due to Board of Adjustment Meeting
Roll Call: Mr. McCollum, Mrs. Fielding, Mrs. McCann, Mr. Hill, absent, Mr. Connelly, absent excused,
Mr. Neglia, Mr. Generazio, absent, Mrs. Damp, Mr. Napier, Mr. Thomas, absent excused, Mr. Paul,
Mr. Barnes, Mrs. Cartwright, Mrs. Kautenberg,
Staff members present were Linda Kinchen, Recording Secretary, and Rich Striuger, City Attorney
Public Input: -tteld until public bearing was opened.
Approval of Minutes: June 29, 1999 and July 6, 1999 A motion to approve both sets of minutes was made
by Mr. Napier second by Mrs. Fielding passed unanimously.
Old Business: None
New Business: Public Hearing opened at 7:02 PM. No public in attendance suspended until later to see if
any one arrives.
Member Comments: Mrs. Damp thanked the attorney for his help and work on these changes.
Mrs. Cartwright wanted to discuss item #16 - What would be dollar amount for candidates. Attorney stated
1% is state required - therefore it would be 1% of the Council Salary. But the Attorney stated he would
review this item before the next public hearing. Local fees are sent by ordinance.
One member of the public arrives but says has no questions just came to listen.
Councilman Barczyk arrives at 7:10 PM but only came to listen also.
Public hearing reopened at 7:10 PM so that one member of the public may speak.
Dorothy Eager of 843 Floraland Avenue says didn't know city drew lots and agrees with a runoff election.
Also under amendment #20 wanted to know what the Police Chief would have to do with appointing
Councilmembers.
Public hearing was closed at 7:25 PM
A question came up as to whether the Charter amendments could be put on the Website.
The attorney will check.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:30 PM
