IN THE CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS. HOLDRIDGE APPROVE JOHN WILLIAM LAVERACK TO TAKE THE BLOCK EXAM. ROLL CALL WAS TAKEN. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. VIOLATION HEARrNGS: NONE BUILDING'OFFICIAL MA~: DISCUSSION: TERMITE SI-I~LDS THE BOARD SECRETARY TOLD THE BOARD THAT SHE HAD A HARD TI1V~ I~ARING THE TAPE TO UNDERSTAND THE MOTION AND WAS REQUESTING A NEW MOTION BE MADE. MOTION BY VICE CHAIRMAN MOSBY, SECONDED BY MR, HOLDRIDGE TO RECOMMEND TO CITY COUNCIL TO AMEND CITY ORDINANCE, SEC. 26.31 TO REQUIRE ALL WOOD FRAM]~ CONSTRUCTION HAVE A TERM1TE SHIELD INSTALLED ON THE EXTERIOR WALL BETWEEN THE BOTTOM PLATE AND THE SLAB AND ALL MASONRY CONSTRUCTION HAVE A STUCCO BAND INSTALLED AT THE EXTERIOR WALLS AND FOUNDATION. ROLL CALL WAS TAKEN. MOTION CARRIED 5-0. THE BOARD SECRETARY ASKED ABOUT CABINET INSTALLATION, THAT SHE COULD FIND NOTHING IN THt/MINUTES REGARDING IT BEING A TESTED OR UNTESTED TRADE. IN THE PAST iT WAS A GENERAL SPECIALTY TEST. FOLLOWING A BRIEF DISCUSSION THE BOARD FELT THEY SHOI. R.D BE LICENSED BUT NOT BE REQUIRED TO TAKE A TEST. MOTION BY MR. HOLDRIDGE, SECONDED BY VICE CHAIRMAN MOSBY TO REQUIRE THAT CABINET INSTALLATION FALL UNDER THE SAME CATEGORY AS FINISHED CARPENTER AS FAR AS LICENSING AND PERMITTING GO AND THAT NO TEST BY TAKEN.
