CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL INTRODUCTION OF NEWLY HIRED PART TIME BUILDING INSPECTORS: RAY THOMPSON, CHUCK NEUBERGER, ROBERT MAUPIN APPROVE MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF 2/12/85 OLD BUSINESS: FORMAL APPROVAL SMITH, KENNETH W./LAND CLEARING CHAIRMAN'S MATTERS: ATTORNEY'S MATTERS: NEW BUSINESS: MCCALL SR., DONALD E./ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR/LETTER OF RECIPROCITY GRANIMS, THOMAS E./ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR/LETTER OF RECIPROCITY PINNER, ROY D./ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR/LETTER OF RECIPROCITY VENEZIANO, CHARLES J./CARPENTRY SUB-CONTRACTOR APPLICATIONS FOR ALTERNATE BOARD MEMBERS BOARDS APPROVAL FOR SECRETARY TO SIGN STATEMENTS FOR PAYMENT REGISTER GRADE IN SCOREBOOK MANNING, ROBERT/SPECIAL ADMINISTRATIVE TEST?GAINESVILLE 15 MINUTES TO PUBLIC AD JO URN NOTE: IF ANY PERSON DECIDES TO APPEAL ANY DECISION MADE ON THE ABOVE MATTERS, HE/SHE WILL NEED A RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS AND FOR SUCH PURPOSES, HE/SHE WILL NEED TO ENSURE THAT A VERBATIM RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS IS MADE, WHICH RECORD INCLUDES THE TESTIMONY IN EVIDENCE ON WHICH THE APPEAL IS BASED. SEBASTIAN CONSTRUCTION BOARD - MARCH 12, 1985 THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY CHAIRMAN HARRIS AT 7:35 P.M. PRESENT: MR. LEWIS, MR. RIZIO,. MR. TRIPP, MR. MOLER, MR. PALMER, CHAIRMAN HARRIS. ABSENT: MR. CAREY, EXCUSED. CHAIRMAN HARRIS INTRODUCED THE NEWLY HIRED PART TIME BUILDING INSPECTORS AND ASKED EACH ONE TO GIVE THE BOARD SOME BACKGROUND ON THEMSELVES. ROBERT NAUPIN - FRAMING RAY THOMPSON - PLUMBING CHUCK NEUBERGER - ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL CHAiRMAN HARRIS STATED THERE HAS BEEN SOME CONTROVERSY OVER SOME INSPECTIONS OF THE RECENT PAST AND THAT SOME THINGS ARE NOT CLEAR TO THE AVERAGE CONTRACTOR IN THE WAY WE'VE BEEN DOING THINGS. A WORKSHOP MEETING WILL BE SET UP IN THE NEAR FUTURE WITH ALL THE INSPECTORSPRESENT TO GO OVER THINGS NOT CLEAR CONCERNING THE SEBASTIAN CODE, COUNTY CODE, NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE. ALL CONCERNED PARTIESARE INVITED TO ATTEND. MOTION BY MR. LEWIS, 2/12/85. SECOND BY MR. PALMER TO APPROVE MINUTES OFMEETING OF CARRIED. CHAiRMAN HARRIS REQUESTED A SHORT RECESS TO REVIEW FILES. RECESS 7:40 P.M. - REOPENED 7:55 P.M. SMITH, KENNETH W./LAND CLEARING/FORMALAPPROVAL MOTION BY MR. TRIPP, SECONDED BY MR. RIZIO TO FORMALLY APPROVE APPLICATION. CARRIED. MCCALL SR., DONALD E,/ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR/LETTER OF RECIPROCITY CHAIRMAN HARRISSTATED THAT ANY EXAM TAKEN AFTER 1983 MUST HAVE THE ADMINISTRATIVEEXAM. WHEN ASKED, MR. MCCALL REPLIED THAT HE DID NOT TAKE THE EXAM. MOTION BY MR. TRIPP, SECOND BY MR. ADMINISTRATIVE EXAM IS TAKEN. MOLER TO DENY APPLICATION UNTIL THE CARRIED. GRANIMS, THOMAS E./ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR/LETTER OF RECIPROCITY CHAIRMAN HARRIS NOTED THAT THE ADMINISTRATIVE EXAM WAS NOT REQUIRED SINCE THE BLOCK EXAM WAS ORIGINALLY TAKEN IN 1980. MOTION BY MR. ISSUE LICENSE. TRIPP, SECOND BY BY MR. MOLER TO APPROVE APPLICATION AND CARRIED. SEBASTIAN CONSTRUCITON BOARD - MARCH 12, 1985 PINNER, ROY D./ELECTRiCAL CONTRACTOR/LETTER OF RECIPROCITY MR. PINNER WAS NOT PRESENT AT MEETING'. CHAIRMAN HARRIS NOTED THAT THE BLOCK EXAM WAS TAKEN IN 1984, AND THAT THE ADMINISTRATIVE EXAM WAS NOT TAKEN. MOTION BY MR. TRIPP, SECONDED BY MR. PALMER TO DENY APPLICATION UNTIL THE ADMINISTRATIVE EXAM IS TAKEN. CARRIED. VENEZIANO, CHARLES J./CARPENTRY SUB-CONTRACTOR CHAIRMAN HARRIS NOTED THAT VERIFICATION OF EXPERIENCE WAS NOTARIZED BY APPLICANT, WHICH IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. MOTION BY MR. TRIPP, SECONDED BY MR. RIZIO TO ACCEPT APPLICATION WITH THE STIPULATION THAT THE VERIFICATION BE NOTARIZED BY SOMEONE OTHER THAN APPLICANT, APPROVED BY CHAIRMAN AND VICE CHAIRMAN AND BROUGHT BACK BEFORE THE BOARD AT THEIR REGULAR MEETING ON 4/9/85 FOR FORMAL APPROVAL. CARRIED. MOTION BY MR. TRIPP, SECONDED BY MR. RIZIO TO AMEND THE APPLICATION TO READ THAT THE 1 HOUR ADMINISTRATION EXAMINATION IS REQUIRED BY ALL TESTED CONTRACTORS. CARRIED. AFTER REVIEWING APPLICATIONS FOR ALTERNATE BOARD MEMBERS, THE FOLLOWING MOTIONS WERE MADE: MOTION BY MR. TRIPP, SECONDED BY MR. MOLER TO RECOMMEND TO THE CITY COUNCIL THAT WILLIAM BALLOUGH BE APPOINTED AS AN ALTERNATE MEMBER TO THE CONSTRUCTION BOARD. CARRIED. MOTION BY MR. TRIPP, SECONDED BY MR. LEWIS TO READVERTIZE FOR A CONCERNED CITIZEN TO SERVE AS AN ALTERNATE ON THE CONSTRUCTION BOARD. CARRIED. MOTION BY MR. LEWIS, SECONDED BY MR. TRIPP TO ALLOW THE SECRETARY OF THE BOARD TO SIGN STATEMENTS FOR PAYMENT. CARRIED. SCORE FOR ROBERT MANNING, SPECIAL ADMINISTRATIVE EXAM TAKEN IN GAINESVILLE WAS RECORDED THE SCOREBOOK BY MR. TRIPP AND MR. RIZIO. MOTION BY MR. MOLER, SECONDED BY MR. TRIPP TO ADJOURN. CARRIED. MEETING ADJOURNED AT 8:15 P.M.
