The work consists of furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials required for construction of a 42 slip marina consisting of wood piles and pile bents, concrete wave break, and wood decking as shown on these drawings and as specified in the Technical Specitications. 2. All work shall conform to any required permits. The Contractor who performs the work shall post on the job site all permit placards and the Contractor shall comply with the terms of the permits as pertaining to performance of the work. 3. Prior to construction the Contractor shall meet with the Engineer or the Engineer's designee (pre -construction meeting) to establish the construction access locations, limits of upland staging area, and design details and methods of construction. 4. Prior to commencement of removal of existing structures and debris or marina construction, the Contractor shall implement sediment control measures (turbidity curtains) surrounding the limits of construction to insure that the construction activities will not cause violations of State water quality standards. All turbidity curtains shall remain in place until all removal and/or construction activities are completed and turbidity levels within the project area return to normal background levels 5. All framing, and decking shall be pressure treated lumber. Grade shall be structural select No. 2 Southern Pine. Pressure treatment shall be (AWPA) for marine environments. Minimum retention shall be 0.4 pcf. 6. All bolts and nuts for timber connections shall be (ASTM) A307, Hot -flipped Galvanized bolts with ogee washers at timber bearings. 7. Timber piles shall be Southern Yellow Pine clean peeled, piles conforming to (ASTM D25). Piles shall be wrapped with high density polyethylene material, 0.3" thick, and secured with S.S. ring shank nails, from 1' above MHW to river bottom. Minimum retention shall be 2.5 pcf. 8.
