A WOMAN MR. MCCULLERS HAD DONE A ROOF FOR. SHE WAS NOT SATZSFIED WITH
THE JOB AND APPARENTLY NO BUILDING PERMIT HAD BEEN PULLED.
MR. LAMAN SAID SHE HAD ALSO CALLED HIM. HER NAME WAS' MRS. ~ARSHALL
OF 426 HIBISCUS STREET. HE INFORMED HER 'THAT THE B~RD WAS MEETING
TONIGHT AND THAT SHE WAS WELCOME TO ADDRESS THE BOARD. (~EWAS
NOT PRESENT AT THE MEETING.)
MR. DOMINIX AND VICE CHAIRMAN CAREY, UNDER THE CIRCUM$TANCES~ QUESTIONED
WHETHER OR NOT'THE BOARD SHOULD SPONSOR MR. MCCULLERS TO TAKE THE BLOCK
EXAM IN MAY.

M~.. CLOUTIER DISCUSSED THE "GLITCH BILL" THAT WAS' PASSED THROUGH THE STATE
LEGISLATURE. IT IS 'STATED THAT THE CITY MUST ADOPTYTHE '85 CODE WITH '86
AMENDMENTS. OUR CITY USES THE STANDARD BUILDING CODE. HE FELT THIS SHOULD
BE INITIATED BY THE BOARD
IN ANOTHER "GLITCH BILL".FOR STATE FIRE MARSHALLS IT STATES..YOU~.~.ST ADOPT
THE LIFE SAFETY 101. (SAFETY CODE) ONCE ADOPTED, THESEi':.HAVE T~i'iBE SENT
IN TO FHE LAND DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION, STATE OF FLORIDA. THIS NEEDS. TO BE
DONE BY THE CITY ATTORNEY. THIS IS DONE IN C. ONNECTION WITH .FLORIDA STATE
STATUTES 453.73.
CHAIRMAN BALLOUGH ASKED THAT THE DISCUSSION OF MR. MCCULLERS, ROOFING
UNLIMITED BE CONTINUED.
HE SUGGESTED ONE OF THE BOARD MEMBERS MEET .WITH' MRS. LAMAN
.VOLUNTEERED 'TO MEET WITH HER AND SEE IF SHE WANTED TO
HE ALSO SAID WE NEEDED TO FIND OUT IF MR. MCCULLERS WAS WORKING WITHOUT A
LICENSE.
MR. CLOUTIER STATED THAT SINCE THERE WAS NO BUILDING PERMIT, IT SHOULD BE
TURNED OVER.TO THE BUILDING DEPARTMENT TO INVESTIGATE.

STATUS OF ELECTRICAL CODE
MR. DOMINIX TOLD ~E BOARD THAT HE AND VICE CHAIRMAN CAREY MET WITH THE
MAYOR TO TRY TO EXPEDITE THE ELECTRICAL CODE GOING TO CITY COUNCIL FOR
THEIR APPROVAL. THE PROPOSAL WAS GONE OVER ITEM FOR ITEM.-THE MAYOR
SAID HE WOULD PASS IT ON TO ATTORNEY PALMER TO BE PUT INTOLEGAL FORM.
AFTER BEING RETURNED, MR. DOMINIX SAID HE WENT THROUGH IT TO COMPARE WITH
WHAT WAS SENT TO THE MAYORS' OFFICE. THERE WERE SOME CHANGES '~T~aT CHANGED
THE MEANING AND SOME CHANGES CHANGED THE CODE ENTIRELY. M~...'i~IX MET
WITH THE MAYOR AGAIN, AFTER THE MAYOR TALKED TO ATTORNEY aTtORNEY
PALMER ASKED MR. DOMINIX TO MEET WITH HIM'TO GO OVER THE THAT
IT COULD BE FINALIZED. MR. DOMINIX WILL THEN BRING THE CODEBACK TO THE
BO;~RD FOR APPROVAL BEFORE GOING TO COUNCIL.
GENERAL DISCUSSION:-'
MR. DOMINIX SUGGESTED IN THE NEAR FUTURE THAT THE BOARD MABEL RECOMMENDATION.'
TO CITY COUNCIL THAT THEY ADOPT THE '87 NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE WITH THE
ATTACHED MODIFICATIONS.
CHAIRMAN BALLOUGH ASKED MR. DOMINIX TO BRING TO THE NEXT MEETING ANY STATE
STATUTES THAT SUPPORTS THAT THE CITY KEEP UPDATING ITS CODE.
