The Pledge of Allegiance was said. ROLL CALL: PRESENT: ALSO PRESENT: VChmn. Cecrle Chmn. Smith Michael Herbig Andrew AIIocco Michael Holdddge Louis Nicolini Pierre Paquette(a) Scott Taylor(a) George Bonacci, BUilding Department Director Ann Brack, Recording Secretary It was determined that Scott Taylor(a) will be voting tonight. APPROVAL OF M IN,UTES: (4/13/99) MOTION by Cecrle/AIIocco I'd like to make a motion that we approve'the minutes from the Apdl 13u', 1999 minutes of the City of Sebastian Construction Board. A voice vote was taken. 7 - 0 motion carded. OLD BUSINESS: None NEW BUSINESS: EXPERIOR EXAM: 1. MORRIS JR, BILLY H. I Building Contractor - Billy H. Mords, Jr., 1325 15th Avenue, Vero Beach, FL was present and was swom in by the Chairman at 7:06 pm. MOTION by Cecrle/Herbig I'd like to make a motion that we approve Mr. Billy Morris, Jr. for the F_.xperior exam for Building Contractor. DOWL.ING, SHAUN D./Drywall Mr. Shaun Dowling, 1920 62nd Drive, Veto Beach, FL was present and was sworn in by Chmn. Smith at 7:08 pm. MOTION by Cecde/Nicolini I'd like to make a motion that we approve Mr. Shaun Dowling for the Expedor for Roll call: Michael Holdddge Chmn. Jereld Smith Scott Taylor(a) The vote was 7 - 0. I Journeyman Electrician Mr. Richard Reed, 334 Bayharbor Terrace, Sebastian was present and was sworn in by Chmn. Smith at 7:10 pm. There was some discussion of Mr. Reed's resume'. MOTION by Nicolini/AIIocco I'd like to make a motion that we approve Mr. Reed to take the .(Experior) Journeyman Electrician's test. Roll call: VC Cecrle - yes Michael Holdridge - yes Chmn. Smith - yes Louis Nicolini - yes Michael Herbig - yes Scott Taylor(a) - yes Andrew AIIocco - yes " The vote was 7 - 0. Motion carded. BUILDING_OFFICIAL MATTERS.' Mr. Bonacci gave information to the Board members about the State mandated contractor licensing, which will eliminate the Block (Experior) Exam. He noted that every contractor will be State licensed. He also noted that at present, this new procedure will be effective October l~t, 1999. There was further discussion of possible repercussions from this action within' the Sebastian Building Department with contractor licensing and this Board. CONSTRUCTION BOARD MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF MAY 11, 1999 Michael Holdridge broUght the subject of enforcement and howit would be handled. Discussion cOntinued on this issue. Mr. Bonacci then noted that there is talk of making a nationwide Building Code with' zones established for wind resistance. He also spoke of the Electrical Code, These different issUes were discussed, and Mr. Bonacci commented that as he receives information, he will bring it back because these changes could change the activity of this Board.
