OF 5/7/85.
NOTE: IF ANY PERSON DECIDES TO APPEAL ANY DECISION MADE ON THE ABO~E
MATTERS, HE/SHE WILL NEED A RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS AND FOR SUCH.
PURPOSES, HE/SHE WILL NEED TO ENSURE THAT A VERBATIM RECORD OF THE
PROCEEDINGS IS MADE, WHICH RECORD INCLUDES THE TESTIMONY IN EVIDENCE
ON WHICH THE APPEAL IS MADE.

MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER BY CHAIRMAN HARRIS AT 7:35 P.M.
PRESENT: MR. DOMINIX, MR. HOFFMAN, MR. TRIPP, CHAiRMAN HARRIS.
ABSENT:
THE FOLLOWING WERE ALL EXCUSED: VICE CHAIRMAN CAREY,
MR. BALLOUGH, MR. RIZIO, MR. MOLER, MR. PALMER.

MR. NEUBERGER, CITY ELECTRICAL AND MECHANICAL INSPECTOR.
MOTION BY MR. TBIPP,' SECONDED BY MR. DOMINIX TO TABLE THE MINUTES
OF REGULAR MEETING OF 4/9/85; WORKSHOP MEETINGS OF 4/23/85,
4/29/85 5/7/85 UNTIL THE FOLLOWING MEETING.
CARRIED.
ROUGH DRAFT FOR THE PREPARING OF AN'ORDINANCE FOR PROPERLY
ANCHORING AND DOING SERVICE CONNECTIONS:
CHAiRMAN HARRIS STATED THAT TOM PALMER, CITY ATTORNEY, HAD GIVEN
HIM SOME MATERIAL WHICH WOULD BE USEFUL IN HELPING PREPARE A
ROUGH DRAFT.
THE BOARD SECRETARY WAS REQUESTED TO MAKE COPIES OF THE MATERIAL
FROM MR. PALMER AND DISIR~BUTEIT TOTHE BOARD MEMBERS TO STUDY
BEFORE THE NEXT BOARD MEETING.
CHAIRMAN HARRIS INTRODUCED MR' HECTOR FRANCO, NEWLY HIRED BUILDING
OFFICIAL TO THE BOARD.
CONTINUING THE DISCUSSION OF THE ELECTRICAL CODE FROM THE WORKSHOP
MEETING HELD 5/~/85.._,.
CHAiRMAN HARRIS REQUEST A TIME LIMIT BE SET FOR THE DISCUSSION OF
THE ELECTRICAL CODE - 9:30 P.M. WAS UNANIMOUSLY APPROVED THE THE
BOARD.
A LENGTHY DISCUSSION FOLLOWED PERTAINING TO ORDINANCE 0-83-14,
PAGE 16, AT WHICH TIME CHANGES WERE MADE, AS PER ATTACHED.
CHAIRMAN HARRIS REQUESTED THAT DISCUSSION OF THE ROUGH DRAFTING
OF AN ORDINANCE AND ELECTRICAL CODE BE ON THE NEXT WORKSHOP
AGENDA.
MOTION BY MR. TRIPP, SECONDED BY MR. DOMINIX TO ADJOURN MEETING
CARRIED.

PROPOSED CHANGES TO CITY ORDINANCE NO. 0-83-14:
SEC. 7-46.6 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
(K) THE BOARD VOTED UNANIMOUSLY TO LEAVE THE "LIGHT OUTLETS AND
RECEPTACLES" AS WRITTEN.
(K) CONTINUED:
KITCHEN, BREAKFAST ROOM, NOOKS AND DINING ROOMS - TWO RECEPTACLES
PER CIRCUIT. DESIGNATED APPLIANCES MUST BE ON AN INDIVIDUAL BRANCH
CIRCUIT WITH A CIRCUIT THAT SUPPLIES ONLY ONE UTILIZATION EQUIPMENT
SUCH AS REFRIGERATOR, FREEZER, MICROWAVE, DISHWASHER, TRASH COMPACTOR
AND ETC.
THE ABOVE SHALL TERMINATE IN A SINGLE RECEPTICAL OF THE PROPER RATING.
(L) NUMBER 14 WIRE MAY BE USED THROUGHOUT A RESIDENCE EXCEPT IN
THE AREAS LISTED IN (J) ABOVE. ONLY #2 ALUMINUM WIRE AND LARGER
SHALL BE APPROVED WHEN PROPER CONNECTORS, TERMINALS AND CORROSIVE
INHIBITORS ARE USED.
