Krage~ City Clerk CALL TO ORDER ROLL CALL APPROVE MINUTES OF JUNE 28, 1983 MEETING NEW BUSINESS: RECOMMENDATIONS FOR BOARD MEMBER ' '~REPORT BY'MEMBER TRIPP RE: REPORT BY MEMBER TRIBB RE: CHAIRMAN'S MATTERS: OLD BUSINESS: APPLICATIONS FOR RECIPROCITY TRAVIS, KENNETH - ELECTRICAL 15 MINUTES TO PUBLIC ADJOURN SOLAR CONTRACTORS SIGN PAINTING & ERECTION LICENSING SEBASTIAN CONSTRUCTION BOARD MEETING - JULY~1983 CHAIRMAN HARRIS CALLED THE MEETING TO ORDER AT 7:30 P.M. PRESENT: MR.LANGLOIS, MR. RIZIO, MR. CALMES, MR. PALMER_AND.CHAIRMAN HARRIS ABSENT: MR. TRIPP (Excused) & ONE VACANT SEAT CHAIRMAN HARRIS STATED THAT THE FIRST ORDER OF BUSINESS WOULD BE TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING ON JUNE 28, 1983. MOTION BY MR. CALMES, SECONDED BY MR. LANGLOIS, TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF THE JUNE 28, 1983 MEETING. CARRIED. THERE WAS A BRIEF DISCUSSION REGARDING THE RECOMMENDATION FOR THE CITY COUNCIL REGARDING MR. JACK TRUNDLE OR MR. GERALD CAREY BEING APPOINTED TO THE SEBASTIAN CONSTRUCTION BOARD . THE BOARD MEMBERS WERE SPLIT AS TO THE RECOMMENDATION THAT THEY WANTED TO FORWARD TO THE CITY COUNCIL, MR. LANGLOIS FELT MR. CAREY SHOULD BE APPOINTED SINCE HE HAD BEEN A RESIDENT A LONGER LENGTH OF TIME AND MR. PALMER CONCURRED, MR. HARRIS AND MR. RIZIO FELT THAT MR. TRUNDLE HAD BEEN IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY THE LONGEST, MR. CALMES STATED THAT HE LIKED BOTH MR. CAREY AND MR. TRUNDLE AND MADE THE FOLLOWING MOTION: MOTION BY MR. CALMES,SECONDED BY MR. LANGLOIS, THAT THE SEBASTIAN CONSTRUCTION BOARD FORWARD BOTH APPLICANTS, MR. TRUNDLE AND MR. CAREY, TO THE CITY COUNCIL AS THEY ARE BOTH QUALIFIED TO FILL THE POSITION. CARRIED. TRAVIS, KENNETH - ELECTRICAL CHAIRMAN HARRIS STATED TO THE BOARD THAT MR. TRAVISHAD APPEARED BEFORE THE BOARD ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS REGARDING A LICENSE BY RECIPROCITY. MR. TRAVIS HAD BEEN TESTED IN BROWARD COUNTY AND THAT THEY HAD NOT REQUESTED RECIPROCITY. MR. TRAVIS STATED TO THE BOARD THAT HE HAD CONTACTED BLOCK AND ASSOCIATES AS THE BOARD HAD INSTRUCTED AT THEIR LAST MEETING AND WAS ADVISED THAT HE WOULD BE UNABLE TO OBTAIN THE INFORMATION FROM BLOCK AND ASSOCIATES BUT THAT THE CITY OR MUNICIPALITY THAT WAS INTERESTED IN THE INFORMATION COULD CONTACT BLOCK AND ASSOCIATES, IN WRITING, AND THEY WOULD FORWARD THE INFORMATION TO THAT CITY OR MUNICIPALITY. THE SECRETARY READ THE LETTER RECEIVED FROM BLOCK AND ASSOCIATES (SEE ATTACHED). THE INFORMATION STILL NEEDED WOULD BE THE APPLICANT TEST NUMBER ASSIGNED BY BLOCK AND ASSOCIATES. MR. TRAVIS STATED THAT THE SECRETARY HAD BEEN MOST HELPFUL AND THAT HE WAS TRYING TO OBTAIN THE INFORMATION FROM BROWARD COUNTY REGARDING HIS APPLIC~NT TEST NUMBER. MR. LANGLOIS SUGGESTED THAT THE CHAIRMAN AND CO-CHAIRMAN REVIEW ALL THE INFORMATION RECEIVED FROM BLOCK AND ASSOCIATES, IF THE APPLICANT TEST NUMBER. IS RECEIVED, AND THAT THEY TENTATIVENLY AND THAT FORMAL ACTION BE GRANTED AT THE MEETING OF AUGUST 2, 1983. CLAMES, SECONDED BY MR. LANGLOtS, THAT THE BOARD AUTHORIZE THE MOTION BY MR.THE CO-CHAIRMAN TO APPROVE THE APPLICATION FOR A LICENSE OF RECIPROCITY CHAIRMAN AND FOR MR. KENNETH TRAVIS, ELECTRICAL, ONLY AFTER MEETING ALL THE REQUIREMENTS SEBASTIAN CONSTRUCITON BOARD MEETING - JULY 12~ 1983 OF THE ORDINANCE AND MEETING THE SATISFACTION OF THE CHAIRMAN AND CO-CHAIRMAN. CARRIED. MOTION BY MR. CALMES, SECONDED BY MR. LANGLOIS, THAT THIS AUTHORIZATION BE VALID ONLY UNTIL THE NEXT SCHEDULED MEETING OF AUGUST 2, 1983. CARRIED. CHAIRMAN HARRIS STATED THAT MR. PURDY WAS HERE AND HAD AN APPLICATION THAT HE WOULD LIKE TO PRESENT TO THE BOARD FOR REVIEW. MOTION BY MR. LANGLOZS, SECONDED BY MR. RIZIO, TO BRING THE APPLICATION TO THE FLOOR FOR MR. PURDY. CARRIED. CHAIRMAN HARRIS STATED THAT MR. PURDY'S APPLICATION SHOWS THAT HE IS APPLYING FOR FOUR SEPARATE LICENSES. MASONRY/CONCRETE & FORMING/PLUMBING/AND PUMPING. CHAIRMAN HARRIS STATED THAT MR. PURDY WOULD NEED A SEPARATE APPLICATION FOR EACH CATEGORY AND A FEE OF $50.00 FOR EACH LICENSE. THE BOARD WAS OF THE OPINION THAT A MASONRY CONTRACTORS LICENSE WOULD COVER THE MAJORITY OF THE TYPE OF LICENSE REQUIRED AND THAT MR. PURDY COULD ALSO APPLY FOR A CARPENTRY LICENSE. PURDY - MASONRY CONTRACTOR MOTION BY MR. PALMER, SECONDED BY MR. CALMES, TO APPROVE THE APPLICATION FOR MR. PURDY, MASONRY CONTRACTOR, PROVIDING THE SECRETARY NOTARIZE THE AFFIDAVIT WHEN SIGNED BY MR. PURDY IN HER PRESENTS. CARRIED. PURDY - CARPENTRY CONTRACTOR MOTION BY MR. CALMES, SECONDED BY MR. LANGLOIS, TO APPROVE THE APPLICATION FOR MR. PURDY, CARPENTRY - SUB CONTRACTOR, PRIOR TO AN ADDITIONAL APPLICATION FOR A CARPENTRY LICENSE AND SUFFICENT INSURANCE FORMS FOR MR, PURDY. CARRIED. THERE WAS A BRIEF DISCUSSION REGARDING THE LICENSING FOR DRAINAGE WORK TO BE DONE IN THE CITY, AND THAT THE SEBASTIAN CONSTRUCTION BOARD WOULD CHECK INTO THE SURROUNDING COUNTIES AS TO THE REQUIREMENTS. MOTION BY MR. CALMES, SECONDED BY MR. LANGLOIS, TO TABLE ANY ACTION ON A DRAINAGE LICENSE FOR MR. PURDY UNTIL MORE INFORMATION IS RECEIVED BY THE BOARD. CARRIED. MOTION BY MR. LANGLOIS, SECONDED BY MR. CALMES, THAT THE MEETING BE ADJOURNED. CARRIED. MEETING ADJOURNED AT 8:20 P.M.
