SEBASTIAN CONSTRUCTION BOARD - REGULAR MEETING - 11/09/93
BOARD MATTERS:
CHAIRMAN LAMAN THOUGHT THIS WOULD BE A GOOD TIME TO REVIEW
AND DISCUSS FINES.
MR. MILLER FELT THAT THE BOARD IS TOO LENIENT .WITH THEIR
FINES.
MR. MOSBY SAID THAT SOME FINES WERE AFFECTED BY THE
CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE CASE.
CHAIRMAN LAMAN SUGGESTED THAT AFTER THE MOTION IS MADE;:THAT
THERE BE A DISCUSSION AND THAT EACH BOARD MEMBER' MUST MAKE A
COMMENT ABOUT HOW HE/SHE FELT ABOUT THAT CASE. THIS WILL
HELP PREVENT TRYING TO READ EACH OTHERS MIND AS TO WHY THEY
VOTED AS THEY DID.
AFTER A BRIEF DISCUSSION IT WAS SUGGESTED THAT DISCUSSION.AND
A COMMENT FROM EACH MEMBER BE DONE PRIOR TO THE MOTION B~i. ING
GIVEN. THIS WAY, IF BOARD MEMBERS CHANGE THEIR MIND' AS T~/
HOW THEY WILL VOTE THE MOTION DOES NOT HAVE TO BE WITHDRAWN
AND DONE AGAIN.
MR. COOPER SUGGESTED HAVING A UNIFORM FINE SYSTEM.
CHAIRMAN LAMAN SAID THAT THIS WOU~D BE DI::~CUSSED AT THE
DECEMBER MEETING AND THAT THE COMMENT PROCEDURE WouLD-BE PUT
INTO EFFECT.
DISCUSSION: BLOCK & ASSOCIATES - t~3OD ROOF SHEATHI~NO
BLOCK & ASSOCIATES WERE ASKING WHETHER OR NOT OUR AREA"~',wAs
GOING TO CHANGE THEIR REQUIREMENTS TO ALLOW ROOFING ~
CONTRACTORS TO REPLACE WOOD ROOF SHEATHING AND IF THAT WANTED
THIS TO BE INCLUDED ON THE BLOCK EXAM.
FOLLOWING A BRIEF DISCUSSION, THE BOARD NOTED THAT THEY DID
NOT WANT TO PURSUE THIS TRADE ANY FURTHER.
DISCUSSION: HANDYMAN LICENSE - JAMES C, CROSBY
MR. CROSBY EXPLAINED THAT MOST CONTRACTORS DO NOT WANT TO:GE?.
INVOLVED WITH SMALL REPAIRS THAT NEED TO BE DONE, THAT"~HBRE!~
SHOULD BE SOME TYPE OF A HANDYMANS LICENSE TO TAKE cA~E~'~',OF
THIS TYPE OF WORK.
PAGE 7
SEBASTIAN CONSTRUCTION BOARD - REGULAR MEETING - 11/9/93.
DISCUSSION - HANDYMANS LICENSE cost
