CHAPTER NO. 150
AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING ADVERTISING FOR
BIDS FOR ANY CITY IMPROVEMENT, PURCHASE
OF .OR CONTRACT FOR MATERIALS OR EQUIP-
MENT COSTING MORE THAN TV~O HUNDRED
FIFTY DOLLARS
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA:
SECTION I. Any city improvement, purchase of or con-
tract for supplies, materials or equipment costing more than Two
Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) shall be executed by contract tn
the name of the City, signed by the Mayor and the City Clerk.
Ali such contracts shall be awarded to the lowest and best bidder
after advertising for bids by the City Clerk in a newspaper pub-
lished in Indian River County, Florida, and such other publica-
tions as the City Clerk may deem advisable.
SECTION IX. First publication in the local newspaper
shall not be less than fifteen (15) days prior to the time of
· receiving bids. The notice shall be published for such longer
period of time as the City Clerk or City Council may deem advis-
able.
SECTION III. All notices shall describe the improYement,
supplies or machinery or equipment on which bids are requested in
such manner and detail as the City Council shall determine and
shall recite that sealed bids will be publicly opened at a
meeting of the City Council designated in the notice.
SECTION IV. The City Council shall have the power to
reject all bids and to advertise again.
SECTION V. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION VI. This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor or
upon its becoming a law without such approval.
