Dear Representative Haridopolos,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of the 2023 Urban and
Community Forestry Grant Program, funded by the U.S. Forest Service and distributed by the
Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. The City of Sebastian received a
$50,000 grant to complete a tree inventory. The comprehensive assessment will serve as a
benchmark, enabling City leaders to manage the urban forest strategically and identify
opportunities for expanding tree canopies across parks, rights -of -way, and other City -owned
spaces.
The City is grateful for this grant and is confident that the success of this project will support
future initiatives to enhance our community's urban tree canopy.
