A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA,
DESIGNATING THE POSITIONS OF 'POLICE CAPTAIN AND
POLICE LIEUTENANT TO BE "UNLIMITED TIME STATUS
EMPLOYEES"
WHEREAS, The Chief of Police has requested that the positions
of Police Captian and Police Lieutenant be designated as "Unlimited
Time Status Employees," and,
WHEREAS, the Job Descriptions of the Police Captain and
Police Lieutenant reflect that these two positions are management
positions in the Police Department, and
WHEREAS, The two employees who are effected by this change
both agree that the nature of 'their duties and responsibilities
are such that their positions should, be designated as "Unlimited
Time Status Employees," and,
WHEREAS, The City Council has been fully advised in this
matter by the Chief of Police as to the reasons for this suggested
change, and
WHEREAS, Sub-paragraph (b) (1) of the Section 2-4 of the
Code of Ordinance provides that Section ii of Part V of the City's
Standard Operating Procedures may be amended by Resolution of the
City Council:
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the positions of Police Captain and Police Lieutenant
are hereby designated to be "Unlimited Time Status EmPloyees."
2. That the revised Section I1 of Part V of the City's
Standard Operating Procedures, attached hereto and made a part
hereof, is hereby adopted by the City Council and shall be placed
in the Standard Operating Procedures, effective immediately.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed by
the Council of the City of Sebastian, Florida, this /o~ day of

positions are on unlimited time status:
1. Public Works Director
2. Finance Director
3. City Clerk
4. Mayor
5. Building Official
6. Police Chief
7, Police Captain
8. Police Lieutenant
9. Golf Course Manager
10. Golf Course Superintendent
