A NEW JOB DESCRIPTION ENTITLED "POLICE COMMUNICATIONS
TECHNICIAN" TO PART V OF THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN STANDARD
OPERATING PROCEDURES: PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, The Chief of Police of the City of Sebastian has
requested that the Police Department be authorized to employ
qualified persons for twenty-four (24) hour dispatch at the
Police Department to qualify for certain communications capability, and
WHEREAS, The Chief of Police has prepared a job description
listing the major function, illustrative duties, minimum qualifi-
cations, and training and experience required or preferred for
employment in the positions, and
WHEREAS, the City Council approves the Job Description as
submitted by the Chief of Police,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
1. The job description for "Police Communications Technician"
attached hereto and made a part hereof is hereby approved by the
City Council.
2. The Clerk is directed to add to the said Job Description
the following: "This job description was approved by Resolution
No. ~-~S'// , dated the ~ day of ~ ,1985." and to
provide copies of the new Job Description to Department Heads for
inclusion in the City's Standard Operating Procedures, Part V.
3. This resolution shall be effective immediately upon
final passage.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was passed
by the City Council of the City of Sebastian, Florida, on the

favor of passage and O votes against passage.

Graduate fr~u high sd~ool or ~]uivalent certification. Work experiea%ce ii'{ radio
dispatdiing of enmrgency services. Prefer teletyp~ or cgxmputer operator experience.
QOALIFICATIONS
Able to wittmt~m%d a rigorous background and d~aracter i~vesgigation.
