A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA, AMENDING
THE JOB DESCRIPTION OF "BUILDING INSPECTOR II" IN SECTION
V OF THE CITY'S STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURES AND THEREBY
ADDING THE DUTY TO ANSWER INQUIRIES CONCERNING CODE RE-
QUIREMENTS AND ACT AS A CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER WHEN
ASSIGNED BY THE BUILDING OFFICIAL AND MAYOR AND TO PERFORM
RELATED WORK AS REQUIRED AND AS DIRECTED BY THE BUILDING
OFFICIAL; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the Mayor has requested that the City Council amend
the Job Description of the "Building Inspector II" in Part V of
the City's Standard Operating Procedures and thereby add to the
duties of the "Building Inspector II" the duty to answer inquiries
concerning code requirements and assume duties as a code enforcement
officer when assigned by the Building Official and Mayor and to per-
form related work as required and as directed by the Building Official,
and,
WHEREAS, subparagraph (b)(1) of Section 2-4 of City Ordinance
No. 0-84-16, enacted on September 12, 1984, provides that the said
Job Description can be amended by a Resolution of the City Council
without public hearing thereon, and
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Sebastian having
considered the reasons for the request 05 the Mayor, finds that the
request should be granted;
NOW THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the words: "Answers inquiries concerning code require-
ments and assumes duties as a Code Enforcement Officer when assigned
by Building Official and Mayor. Performs related work as required
and as directed by the Building Official." be added to the Illus-
trative duties of the "Building Inspector II" Job Description.
2. That the City Clerk amend the said Job Description as spec-
ified herein, add the following to the bottom of the amended Job
Description: "As amended by Resolution No.~-~-~", and to provide
copies of the amended description to the Mayor, Members of the City
COuncil, and Department Heads for inclusion into Part V of their
copies of the Standard Operating Procedures.
3. This Resolution shall be effective on October 1, 1985.
