R-93-09 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, DESIGNATING M~RCH 13 AND 14, 1993 AS "GO DODGER DAYS" IN THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA; PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF RESOLUTIONS OR PARTS OF RESOLUTIONS iN CONFLICT; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the Los Angeles Dodgers have been holding their spring training in Vero Beach and Indian River County since 1948; and WHEREAS, approximately $25 million dollars is generated into the local economy annually by the Los Angeles Dodgers; and WHEREAS, the Los Angeles Dodgers have proven to be good community neighbors by their participation and support of local programs and events including the united Way of Indian River County; and WHEREAS, the former Clemans Elementary School was adopted by the Los Angeles Dodgers and renamed Dodgertown Elementary with the Los Angeles Dodgers supporting activities and renovations at the school. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows: SECTION 1. The weekend of March 13 and 14, 1993 is hereby designated as "Go Dodger Days" in the City of Sebastian. SECTION 2. The City Council urges the citizens of the City of Sebastian to support the Los Angeles Dodgers in all their endeavors. SECTION $. All Resolutions or parts of Resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4. This upon its adoption. Resolution shall take effect immediately The foregoing Resolution was moved for adoption by Counclmember ~ ~~L' . The motion was seconded by Councilmember .... ~/x~ and, upon being put into a vote, the vote was as follows: Mayor Lonnie R.
