Heen, Ronnie/Tile & Marble
Mr. Garland asked Mr. Heen about the lack of a verification sheet in his packet.
It was explained to the Board that he could not get letters from his past employers and
that tax returns were used to verify his having worked as a tile setter. The Board
Secretary highlighted his supervisory on the forms given to the Board.
Mr. Taylor asked why he couldn't get Mr. Tomlinson to sign the verification form. Mr.
Heen said when he gave the first application to him when he worked for him that he set it
aside and did not fill it out. Since Mr. Heen no longer works for Mr. Tomlinson he felt
he would not be able to get the papers filled out. It was further noted that he did not
make any attempt to get any papers filled out by Mr. Tomlinson and Carpet and Tile
Warehouse.
Mr. Taylor felt the payroll sheets attached to the tax returns was not enough to verify
experience and that an honest effort was not made to get letters from his past employers.
Mr. Taylor suggested that a letter be sent to his past employers by certified mail and that
if he received no response that at least an honest effort was made. At this point Mr.
Taylor did not feel that an honest effort was made.
Chmn. Fox swore in Mrs. Heen.
Mrs. Heen stated that originally he was an employee and then about a year ago Carpet
and Tile Warehouse said that he had to get a Federal Tax ID number and form a
corporation and was paid as a sub-contractor.
MOTION by Nicolini
V.C. Nicolini made a motion with Mr. Taylor and Chron. Fox expounding on the motion.
The Board Secretary noted that a motion had been made with no second and a discussion
taking place making it very difficult to follow the motion. She asked that the motion be
withdrawn.
V.C. Nicolini withdrew his motion.
MOTION by Nicolini/Taylor
I make a motion that Mr. Heen supply the Board with letters of confirmation with his
previous employment and supervision.
Mr. Taylor recommended that this be done by sending letters of request by certified mail.
If the postcard is returned but no verification letters are received that at least the Board
will know that an honest attempt was made.
