5. ANNOUNCEMENTS
Vice Chairman Cardinale stated that there was a student from the Charter School visiting with the board
this evening. He also noted that Anne Putman took a fall at her home and broke her leg. He suggested a
short note from the board be written and sent to her with their regards.
6. OLD BUSINESS
A. Champion Trees
Lynn Albury asked if it is permissible to go on private property that is for sale near her home and
measure an oak tree to see if it is Champion. Chairman Fulton noted that if there is a no
trespassing sign on the property than obviously they cannot.
Chris McCarthy stated that they should go to the Community Development Department and let
them know that there is a tree on an undeveloped lot that should not be cut down. Lynn Albury
suggested that they measure the tree first and get the information and then go to the Building
Department.
A discussion took place regarding the use of their tree measuring sticks. The board suggested
that we should put Champion Trees on the City website and channel 25 for the citizens to see.
Anne Dann suggested that everyone on the board should look at parks for Champion trees.
7. NEW BUSINESS
A. Shadehouse
Chairman Fulton stated that there is nothing left at the high school, but that she could still get some
live oaks.
Anne Dann stated that she now has a trailer and she would be more than happy to use it to cart any
trees that need moving.
Vice Chairman Cardinale will get in contact with George at the high school to let him know that the
board wants to get into the shadehouse again.
8. MEMBER MATTERS:
Chairman Fulton stated that the board is doing well with the work plan for this year. She asked the
board secretary to call the boy scouts regarding their projects and if they plan on attending the next
meeting.
Vice Chairman Cardinale mentioned that the board had spoken previously about visiting the Scrub
habitat at Pelican Island Elementary with Bonnie Swanson. Chairman Fulton stated that after the
next meeting the board should make an appointment with Bonnie Swanson for a "field trip" out to the
school.
9. STAFF MATTERS:
Chairman Fulton made an announcement that Ruth Davies has resigned from the tree board and it is a
great lost to the board. She further mentioned that Henry Madsen be made the regular member in place
of Ruth Davies. Board Secretary, Jennifer Maxwell noted that Mr. Madsen would have to fill out another
application and submit it for council to vote on.

Chairman Fulton adjourned the meeting at 6:23 p.m.
