Although not yet finalized for formal submittal, we are getting closer to completion each day. Meeting with Florida Department of Transportation Please find the attached letter as delivered by Mr. Matthew Thys, Aviation Supervisor, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), which announces the annual kick-off meeting relative to the Joint Automated Capital Improvement Program (JACIP) assembly, scheduled to take place Tuesday, February 1st. Essentially, this meeting begins the formal process for the City of Sebastian to compile the formal agreement to administer the $240,000 grant to finance airport master planning in our community. As such, both myself and Director of Public Works Terry Hill will attend this gathering at FDOT District 4 Headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, as we will begin arrangements to deliver said contract for your authorization. Request for Qualifications Process Riverfront Improvement Program Please be advised that arrangement have begun to solicit Request for Qualifications (RFQs) from various entities to assist the City of Sebastian with both design and overall conceptual planning to implement improvement programs as a result of acquiring the former Good Guys, Inc. property. This includes an invitation to the Treasure Coast Regional Planning Council via the process Councilman Joe Barcyzk discussed during Wednesday City Council Information Letter January 28, 2000 Page 2 evening's meeting. It is anticipated that some preliminary logistics are to be authorized sometime in March, as the City of Sebastian looks forward to submitting a grant proposal to the Florida Inland Navigation District to initiate the project. Local Census Office Open House Please find the attached letter as compiled and delivered by Mr. Vince Simpson, Office Manager, Fort Pierce Local Census Office, inviting that a City of Sebastian representative attends the Census 2000 Open House meeting scheduled to take place Thursday, February 3rd , from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Both Growth Management Director Tracy Hass and myself plan to attend. If any of you are interested in joining us, we anticipate leaving City Hall circa 9:00 a.m. We have plenty of room for additional passengers (at least one or two anyway)! The meeting will be held in the 3rd floor Executive Conference room at the District Four Headquarters, 3400 West Commercial Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale. The JACIP software has received only minor updates since last year, therefore, this meeting will concentrate more on process issues and looking at the future of JAClP.
