MOTION by Schmitz/Wolfe I make a motion that the Board approve the minutes of 7/8/03. A voice vote was taken. 5 - 0, motion carded. OLD BUSINESS: None. NEW BUSINESS: Experior Exam Woodward, James K./Electrical Contractor Mr. Woodward was sworn in by Chmn. Fox. VIOLATION HEARINGS: None BUILDING OFFICIAL MATTERS: None BOARD MATTERS: Glenn Walker/Complete Electric The Board Secretary told the Board that they could not pursue taking action against Glenn Walker since he does not hold a license with Sebastian. In regards to Complete Electric Chmn. Fox noted that she felt he misrepresented the verification of experience concerning Mr. Walker. A lengthy discussion followed conceming Complete Electric. The Board felt a hearing should be held. The Board Secretary explained that because the qualifier holds a State Certified License that the only action the Board could take was to withhold permit pulling privileges - only the State could take any kind of disciplinary action. MOTION by Wolfe/Garland I make a motion that Complete Electric comes in and talks to the Board on the Walker situation and tells us why it happened. Voice vote was taken. 5 -0, motion carded. ATTORNEY MATTERS: None. RECORD SCORES IN SCOREBOOK: Mr. Wolfe and Chmn. Fox recorded the scores. 15 MINUTES TO PUBLIC: Mr. Mark Comenzo had given the Board a letter requesting to discuss a problem he was having in trying to take the Residential Contractor Exam through the State. He gave a run down of his experience and the classes he has taken. He told the Board that he is currently on probation and that the State would not let his sit for them because he has no civil rights. He was asking the Board if they required him to have his civil rights in order to take an exam through them. Mr. Garland felt it was a legal question that should be asked of the City Attorney. The Board Secretary asked Mr. Comenzo what kind of a test he would be taking. He replied Residential Contractor or Carpentry Sub-contractor. She explained that even with the Board sponsoring the Residential Exam that he would still have to deal with the State to get his State Registration. During the conversation Mr. Comenzo told the Board that he was a registered sex offender with Indian River County. MOTION by Schmitz/Wolfe I make a motion that we refer this matter to the City Attorney for his review. ROLL CALL: Chmn.
