As previously reported, a public presentation will be offered during your next regular meeting scheduled to take place November 12th, to include recommendations for adoption of a respective trust fund ordinance, as well as initial review and discussion pertaining to a draft master plan document. The CRA Master Plan also incorporates the Sebastian Boulevard Triangle, which will include various long-term ideas relative to future land use and development/redevelopment activities. Such opportunities include suggestions for commercial mixed, single family attached, community/institutional and light industrial land use designations. Final adoptions relative to the CRA Master Plan, as well as incorporation of the Sebastian Boulevard Triangle will be made available on December 10th - during both a CRA Board of Directions session to begin at 6:00 p.m., as well as your regular meeting at 7:00 p.m. Respective resolutions and second ordinance considerations will therefore be made available. Collier Creek Estates/Beachwalk Preserve As some of you may recall via recent Planning and Zoning Commission meetings, numerous residents from Collier Creek Estates became enraged about the prospect of a proposal to develop a town home/condominium complex known as Beachwalk Preserve in the general vicinity. I was contacted yesterday by representatives from the Collier Creek Estates Homeowner's Association with a request to speak to the membership City Council Information Letter October 31, 2003 Page 2 about such a proposal. It turns out that many concerned individuals were under the impression that the City of Sebastian initiated efforts to rezone existing single-family designated land necessary to accommodate the aforementioned proposal via the establishment of a Planned Unit Development. It has been explained on numerous occasions that developers via application to the Department of Growth Management actually initiated this proposal. As such, the purpose of such a presentation will be to clarify facts accordingly, as well as to convey administration's position to developers to submit a proposal consistent with the existing single-family detached land use designation. The Auto Pilot Magazine- Sebastian Municipal Airport As part of the City of Sebastian economic development marketing effort, the attached article was recently published in the latest edition of The Auto Pilot Magazine relative to progress currently underway at Sebastian Municipal Airport. The article specifically references the construction schedule of the recently approved 40 unit t-hangar project currently underway via partnership with Holland Sheltair Sebastian, as well as the availability of approximately 160 acres of light industrial and commercial zoned property for lease as a result to the soon to be implemented Runway 9-27 reopening. The Auto Pilot is a well-regarded source for both aviation professionals and potential business seeking respective development opportunities. As such, we hope to make substantive accomplishments targeting future tenants via such print media. Presentation of Appreciation to Don Campbell - Golf Course As briefly discussed during your last meeting, arrangements are being made to host a special presentation acknowledging Mr. Don Campbell contributions to Sebastian Municipal Golf Course. Director of Golf Operations Greg Gardner informed me earlier this week that Mr. Campbell will not be available until possibly after Thanksgiving for such a presentation. As such, a token of our appreciation will be offered during your December 10th meeting. I have asked Greg to assemble something more than just a certificate of appreciation - as Mr. Campbell's contributions have been tremendously valuable to the City of Sebastian.
