8. MEMBER MATTERS:
Mr. Madsen discussed his concerns regarding the site plans for the new City Hall
complex. He believes that it would be better to rectify the problems now instead of later.
He feels that the oak trees were improperly placed in front of the building and power
lines. Mr. Madsen recommends removing all existing oak trees in the front of the new
City Hall building and replacing them with smaller scale trees and/or palms. Mr. Madsen
also recommends that they remove and relocate every other oak tree from in front of the
existing City Hall and in front of the new Police Dept. The Ficus tree should be removed
because it is already encroaching on the new building. He also feels that the Cocoa
Plum hedge in front of the Police Dept is not up to code. There was much discussion
about the plans and recommendations. This topic will be discussed at the next meeting.
Lynn Albury — Can we have a bench for the Butterfly Garden? Environmental Science
Academy got a grant to do the east side of city hall. Did they use all of that money?
Could we use some of the money to get a bench for the Butterfly Garden?
