Recreation Advisory Committee
April 26, 2004
Called to order by the Chairman:
Roll Call: The following members were present
William Ingui, Wayne Leboeuf, Elizabeth Gray, Jayne Barczyk, Mrs. Jeannie
Jessup, and Jessica Keaton, absent excused
Staff members present were Linda Kinchen, Recording Secretary, Chris McCarthy, Parks
and Recreation Superintendent,
Approval of Minutes: A motion to approve the minutes of March 22, 2004 was made by
Mrs. Barczyk second Ms. Jessup Passed unanimously.
Old Business: Field Trip to Stormwater Park postponed until new business discussion
New Business: Set special meeting Date of May 3`d, 2004 at 4:30 PM for a field
inspection of Ashford T. Jordan Park and Riverview Park for location of Snowshoe
house.
Lisanne Monier asks to speak regarding the special meeting and states that she is not in
favor of removing trees at Jordan park to put the house there. It was just a
misunderstanding at the Council Meeting. There would be no parking there and no
leasing of the building. It would be strictly not for profit and would be a walking
destination and historic designation.
Councilman Barczyk says there are three possible locations, behind the chamber,
Riverview park and the Airport. The committee should recommend one of these
locations.
The committee adjourned to the Stormwater park for a tour.
There were no formal actions taken at the park just a tour. The meeting was adjourned at
the park at 6:45 PM.
