Re: Council/attorney executive sessions; parameters
Some guidance on tonight's session:
The Mayor will call the meeting to order in public session, and announce
that the Council will reconvene in executive session to discuss litigation
matters, designate the cases being discussed, and name the people to be
present. We will then retire to the conference room with the court reporter.
At the end of the executive session, we will reconvene at the public
meeting, announce that the executive session has been concluded, and
adjourn.
Remember, everything you say is being transcribed and will be available
for reading at the conclusion of the litigation. I have heard some really
embarrassing things said due to the more relaxed nature of these meetings.
No decisions can be made at the session. The sole purpose of the session is
for me to get guidance on the strategy being employed and settlement
possibilities in these litigation matters.
Other than these limited matters, nothing else can be discussed during the
session.
