The Pledge of Allegiance was said. ROLL CALL: Present: Chmn. Nicolini V.C. Garland Mr. Conover (Alt.) Mr. Wolf Absent: Mr. Schmitz - excused Mr. Morris Mrs. Carbano Mr. Gilligan Mr. Davis (Alt.) For matter of record, Mr. Davis (Alt.) will be voting for Mr. Schmitz. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Regular meeting of 6/8/04. MOTION: Morris/Wolf I make a motion we approve the minutes of meeting held 6/8/04. A voice vote was taken, motion carried 7 - 0. OLD BUSINESS: None. NEW BUSINESS: Experior Exam Elliott, James M./Concrete Chmn. Nicolini swore in Mr. Elliott. MOTION: Davis/Wolf I make a motion we approve Mr. Elliott to take the Experior Exam for Concrete. ROLL CALL: Mr. Gilligan - yes Mrs. Carbano - yes V.C. Garland - yes Chmn. Nicolini - yes Mr. Morris - yes Mr. Davis - yes Mr. Wolf- yes Motion carried 7 - 0. Overcast, Jerry/Concrete Ctman. Nicolini swore in Mr. Overcast. MOTION by Morris/Wolf I make a motion that we approve Jerry Overcast to take the Experior Exam for Concrete. ROLL CALL: Chmn. Nicolini - yes Mr. Gilligan - yes Mr. Morris - yes Mrs. Carbano - yes Motion carried 7 - 0. Alvarez, Eric G./Ltd. Painting (Trade only.) Chmn. Nicolini swore in Mr. Alvarez. Thomas, Russell V./Ltd. Painting Chmn. Nicolini swore in Mr. Thomas. MOTION by Morris/Wolf I make a motion we approve Russell Thomas to take the Limited Painting Experior Exam. Garland - yes Mr. Wolf- yes Mrs. Carbano - yes Mr. Wolf- yes Mr. Gilligan - yes I make a motion we approve Mr. Alvarez to take the Experior Exam for Ltd. Painting, trade only. Brown Jr., David A./Plumbing Contractor The Board Secretary said that she had pulled Mr. Brown's application fi.om the agenda. V.C. Garland told the Board that the qualifier of Cavenaugh Plumbing had passed away and that he a problem that the verification letter for Mr. Brown was signed by Rebecca Cavenaugh and that she put Mr. Cavenaugh's license number on the letter. It was noted that the letter only stated that he had worked for the company not that she had overseen his work. Because of the problems being discussed by the Board, the Board Secretary called Mr. Brown explaining some of these things. It was noted that Mr. Brown would try to rectify some of these problems and come before the Board in August. Mascis, Steven R./Stucco Mr. Mascis was sworn in by Chron. Nicolini. V.C. Garland asked when the situation with Code Enforcement, Indian River County had taken place. Mr. Mascis said the 7th of July and that he had gotten a $500.00 fine for working without a license. MOTION by Morris/Garland I make a motion on Mr. Mascis application that until the matter of his working as an unlicensed contractor in Indian River County is resolved that we postpone this application. V.C. Garland suggested that a letter from Indian River County be given stating that the fine had been paid and that no criminal charges had been filed. ROLL CALL: Chmn. BUILDING OFFICIAL MATTERS: The Board Secretary told the Board that she would invite the new Building Official to our meeting in August and that perhaps at that time the Board could discuss problems they have been having in regards to violation hearings, etc. BOARD MATTERS: The Board Secretary asked to discuss "welding". She said that years ago if they could provide us with certification showing that they had taken classes and passed a test, we would register them. Then we started testing them. Now there is no longer a test for welding. The Board £elt an application should still be filled out and that it come before the Board. Any certifications being held by that contractor should be included in the packet. ATTORNEY MATTERS: None. RECORD SCORES IN SCOREBOOK: Scores were recorded by Mr. Davis and Mr. Conover. 15 MINUTES TO PUBLIC There being no further business, meeting adjourned at 8:10 P.M.
