R-04-32 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING RECOVERY EFFORTS FOR HURRICANE CHARLEY VICTIMS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ALLOCATE FUNDING FOR APPROPRIATE COSTS RELATING TO REQUESTED AID RESPONSE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, communities devastated by Hurricane Charley on August 13, 2004 need our support in the form of manpower for disaster recovery; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to contribute to the effor~ by sending personnel to assist in the disaster recovery; and WHEREAS, the City shall provide financial support for City personnel who assist in the effort. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN, INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: Section 1. City personnel are hereby authorized to assist where they are requested in the recovery efforts for Hurricane Charley in communities of Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Hardee, Hendry, Highlands, Monroe, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Polk, Seminole, and Volusia Counties as assigned by the City Manager. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to allocate funding for appropriate costs relating to the requested aid response for missions requested prior to November 1,2004. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption. The foregoing Resolution was moved for adoption by Councilmember Co~glio .
