TREE AND LANDSCAPE ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2004 - 5:30 P.M.
Vice Chairperson Dann called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

APPROVAL OF JULY 12~ 2004 and August 2, 2004 MINUTES
Vote could not be taken for July f2th minutes due to members not reviewing
them. Vote could not be taken for August 2nd minutes due to minutes from field
trip not being turned in.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Ken Albrecht was introduced to the Board. He is the new alternate member. Mr.
Albrecht has been a Sebastian resident for eight years. He came from the south FIodda
area.
OLD BUSINESS:
Field tdp to stormwater park on Englar Drive. The tour was very informative and
enjoyable. Mr. Cardinale mentioned that he would like to be involved in helping to
maintain the park. Mr. McCarthy will let us know in March or April when the Board can
be involved. Mr. McCarthy was unsure of when the park was going to be opened to the
public. The City will take over the park in two years.
Dan Culbert, Extension Office will be giving his presentation at the December 13th
meeting. We will change the meeting time to 5:00pm.
Ms. Dann asked where the trees from the east side of the old building had been place.
Mr. McCarthy informed her that they were relocated to Schumann Drive.

Ms. Albury will look for the plaque that was made for Cathy Fulton in appreciation of her
service to the Board. Ms. ^lbury will contact her to see when she can attend a
meeting so the Board can give her the plaque.

NEW BUSINESS:
Hurricane damage to trees and landscape.
Ms. Dann told the Board that she received an e-mail from Dan Culbert regarding the
availability to pumhase some seedlings, at a discount, for distribution to the community.
Mr. McCarthy stated that the City is using FEMA to help replace trees damaged by the
hurricanes. These trees would be large trees.
Ms. Dann said that if we could get the City to purchase the seedlings, that the Tree
Board and Pelican Island Elementary, who's interested in being involved, could distribute
the seedlings. The seedlings would be pine trees.
APPROVAL OF MOTION
MOTION Dann/Bennett
VOICE VOTE on the motion carried 5-0
"1 move to order the trees and use Pelican Island Elementary School for distribution of
them."
Mr. McCarthy would contact Mr. Moore regarding the money to purchase the seedlings.
The Board suggested that Arbor Day will be on Saturday, Apdl 9th, 2005. This will be
confirmed with the City Manager. It was also suggested that we would have an art
contest this year. Mr. Albrecht knows the Pelican Island Elem. Art teacher. The Arbor
Day theme will be decided at the next meeting.
