Wish List for Recreation Proarams
Mrs. Barczyk suggested seeing what rooms are available for programs such as
bridge games, book groups, art classes, sewing, etc.
Mr. Ingui suggested a seasonal newsletter listing programs, finding out what
open spaces are available, the need for staff to make it happen, and hiring
seasonal help to assist. He noted there may be some availability in the old city
hall building.
Mrs. Barczyk recommended putting out the word to citizens to let them know
what types of recreation the public wants.

recreation programs and Mr. McCarthy advised staff is working on a newsletter.
?? Ashanti addressed the committee and said she was seeking alternate smaller
locations for her "music together" children's program and other similar programs.
She stated she was affiliated with the Indian River County Cultural Council and
had some contacts.
Mr. Ingui wondered if there were people who would be willing to volunteer to form
a group to work with Ms. Falzone.
Ms. Keaton suggested that since programs are currently in place the committee
should first be seeking what people want and what additional locations are
available. She suggested an information table at the Clambake festival for a
suggestion box.
Mr. Ingui wondered if the Boys and Girls Club could be approached for space.
The City Clerk said a slide could be placed on the 24 hour power point on
Channel 25 and possibly the city website.
Mrs. Barczyk talked about signage on Indian River Drive for bikepaths and the
need to slow down traffic to 20-25 mph. She said she had given information to
the City Manager; reported on St. Johns putting a dock at C-54 Canal for
recreational purposes; reported on upgrades to the North County Regional Park;
and inquired about what was happening with the conservation park next to City
Hall.
