INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA
and
CITY OF SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA
This Interlocal Agreement, entered into this 23rd day May , 2000,
by and between INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, a political subdivision of the State
of Florida, hereinafter referred to as COUNTY, and the CITY OF SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA,
a municipal corporation of the State of Florida, hereinafter referred to as CITY, for the
purpose of constructing a boat dock/viewing area along Indian River Drive.
WITNESSETH:
WHEREAS, the Florida Interlocal Cooperation Act of 1969 (Chapter 163, F.S.) grants
the COUNTY and CITY the authority to enter into interlocal agreements; and
WHEREAS, the COUNTY and CITY recognize that each entity has certain
responsibilities with respect to the ckizens of the County and the City and their recreation
needs; and
WHEREAS, the CITY requested a $20,000 allocation from the Florida Boating
Improvement Fund for a boat dock/viewing area along Indian River Drive; and
WHEREAS, the COUNTY at its April 18, 2000 regular meeting approved the City's
request; and
WHEREAS, it is in the public interest to set forth, by way of agreement, each entities
responsibilities,
NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual terms, conditions, promises,
covenants and premises hereinafter set forth and pursuant to the statutory authority contained
in Chapter 163, F.S., the COUNTY and CITY agree as follows:
The COUNTY will provide CITY with $20,000 from the Florida Boating
Improvement Fund for the construction of a boat dock/viewing area along Indian
River Drive in Sebastian.
The CITY upon receipt of the $20,000 allocation and upon issuance of all
necessary permits will begin construction of the project. The allocation of these
funds by the COUNTY is the limit of participation by the COUNTY in the
project.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this interlocal agreement
to be executed by their duly authorized officials on the day and year first written above.
