A Resolution certifying returns of General and Special Election held in the City of Sebastian, Florida, on the 13th day of March, 1984: W HER E A S, the returns of the General and Special City Election held in the City of Sebastian, Florida, on March 13, 1984, signed by the Clerk and Inspectors of said election were received by the City Council and filed with the City Clerk, AND, W HER E A S, the Absentee Electors' ballots duly certified by the City Clerk as being all of the Absentee Electors' ballots received by the City Clerk by 5:00 P.M. of the date preceding the city election held on March 13, 1984, were also received by the City Council from the City Clerk, AND, W HER E A 5, Vice Mayor Robert Fitzmaurice, Councilman Richard Szeluga, and Elizabeth Reid, Deputy City Clerk, serving as a Canvassing Board proceeded to canvass said returns and said Absentee Electors' ballots and the results of said election as shown by said returns appeared to be correct, except for the results of the Special Election, AND, W HER E A 5, said Canvassing Board completed a re-count of returns of Special Election, AND, W HER E A S, it appears from the return of the General and Special City Election held on March 13, 1984, duly certified by the Clerk and majority of Inspectors of said election and delivered to the City Clerk and by her transmitted to the City Council that the votes cast at said election, after a re-count, were as follows: For MAYOR: 2 year term (vote for one) Alice A. Keenan " Joseph Palmer Edward Paluch " " TOTAL VOTES CAST: 1926 TOTAL MACHINE VOTES CAST: 2061 TOT.4L ABSENTEE VOTES G.4ST: 61 AND W HER E A S~ the City Council has canvassed said returns and said Absentee Electors' ballots and have found the same to be correct and in order; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the results of the General and Special Election held in the City of Sebastian, Florida, on March 13, 1984, be, and the same are hereby declared to be as shown above as set out in this resolution and that Betsy Adams, be, and she is hereby declared to have been duly elected member of the City Council of the City of Sebastian for the ensuing two (2) years, and that Linda Keenan be, and she is hereby declared to have been duly elected member of the City Council of the City of Sebastian for the ensuing one (1) year, and that James Gallagher be, and he is hereby declared to have been duly elected Mayor of the City of Sebastian for the ensuing two (2) years.
