TREE AND LANDSCAPE ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES
REGULAR MEETING
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 7th, 2005 - 5:30 P.M.
1. Chairperson Albury called the meeting to order at 5:38 p.m.
2. Pledge of allegiance was recited.
3. ROLL CALL:

4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES

5. ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Field Trip to 99 Joy Haven Drive on Saturday, November 19th at 11:00am. Mary
Heinicke contacted Ms. Dann about her Laurel Oak tree. Mr. Lagin set up the field trip.
There is a woman on one of Ms. Albury's clubs that has a tree she wanted measured.
Ms. Albury will contact the woman and confirm the date of 11/19/05 and get back to the
board secretary for posting. Advisor Cardinale will look for the white tree measuring
sticks for the board members.
6. OLD BUSINESS:
UDdate on ChamDion Tree Clinic and set new date. It was decided that the new date
for the Clinic would be December 10th at the same time. It was determined that the
initial legwork was done and that the door prizes were fine. Mr. Lagin stated that of the
speakers Dan Culbert is ok, Larry Vickers isn't available but he can get the Arborist from
...11. ~*. Horizon. We would need the same amount of tables and chairs as before. Colleen
~ Odet, a landscaper with Buzy Bees, is very active and involved and maybe we could get
~ her involved. KIRB won't be available for the event. Janice Broda will be contacted.

Arbor Dav - Choosino a chairoerson Ms. Bennett volunteered to be Chairman for Arbor
Day. Ms. Bennett will stop by the City Clerk's office to get the 2005 Arbor Day file for
review. The tentative date for the celebration will be April 8th, 2006. Ms. Dann will
check the local calendars to make sure there are no conflicting events with this date. It
was suggested to have the Arbor Day event on the same day as the Gobi Fest. Mr.
Cardinale offered his services for the event.
7. NEW BUSINESS:
No new business.
8. MEMBER MATTERS:
Chairperson Albury asked the members to bring ideas for the 2006 Work Plan to the
December meeting.
Chairperson Albury asked Ms. Miller to mention to the Environmental Advisory board
that the Tree board would be reviewing the commercial portion of the LDC and if they
had suggestions please let them know.
Member Henry Madsen's term is expiring this month and he would not be renewing his
application. He was invited back to the December meeting to celebrate his being an
active member.
10. STAFF MATTERS:
The Board Secretary informed the board that all existing secretaries would be staying
with their boards. There would not be a new secretary. The secretary mentioned that all
boards were being asked if they thought it was possible to go to quarterly meetings
instead of once a month when they didn't have anything on their agendas. There was
discussion that possibly the Tree board could do this during the summer months but with
Arbor Day, Champion Tree Day and revising the commercial portion of the LDC they
have too much going on at this time.
11. ADJOURNMENT:
Chairperson Albury adjourned the meeting at 6:10 p.m.
