R-06-03 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SEBASTIAN, FLORIDA, REQUESTING THAT THE FLORIDA LEGISLATURE DIRECT MORE AFFORDABLE HOUSING FUNDING TOWARDS THE "WORKING POOR". WHEREAS, the City of Sebastian recently supported an affordable housing project that received funding through the state; and WHEREAS, despite the hopes of many, citizens in desperate need of housing assistance were unable to qualify for this program; and WHEREAS, the escalation of housing costs in our area has put the American dream of home ownership beyond the reach of hard-working citizens like those who protect us from crime and fires, teach our children and repair our streets; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Sebastian, that the Council hereby petitions the Legislature of the State of Florida to enact programs that direct housing assistance to working class citizens that have found the cost of housing beyond the reach of their finances. This resolution was moved for adoption by Council Member N e g 1 i a , and the motion was seconded by Council Member M 0 n i e r , and, upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: Mayor Nathan B.
