TREE AND LANDSCAPE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING
MINUTES
TUESDAY, APRIL 3, 2006 - 5:30 PM
1. Chairperson Albury called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
2. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
3. ROLL CALL:
Members Present:
Chairperson Lynn Albury
Neil Lagin
Mary Bennett
David Rodriguez
Members Excused Absent:
Matthew Sims
The recording secretary announced the resignations of Anne Dann and Therese Miller.
Staff Present:
Chris McCarthy, Parks and Recreation Superintendent
Jeanette Williams, Recording Secretary
4. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
MOTION Lagin/Bennett
VOICE VOTE on the motion carried unanimously.
5. ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mr. Lagin mentioned the Press Journal would advertise Arbor Day in the paper tomorrow and on
the weekend.
Mr. Lagin said one of the bond prizes would be traded in for cash.
6. OLD BUSINESS:
A. Recap of Field Trips to 581 Concha Drive and 841 Wentworth Street on Saturday,
3/11/06
Mr. Lagin explained the two trees examined would not be included in Saturday's
recognition because larger trees of the same species may be identified.
Chairperson Albury asked for minutes of the meeting and Mr. Lagin said he would
provide them in the near future.

B. Arbor Day - Update
Chairperson Albury did not remember to obtain the student's artwork so a meeting was
scheduled for the following night at Chairperson Albury's house at 6:30 p.m. to judge the
artwork.
The parks superintendent asked if Council Member Coy was obtaining seedlings for
Arbor Day and Mr. Lagin offered to find out for him. Discussion followed on the door
prizes.
7. NEW BUSINESS:
Mr. Lagin nominated Mary Bennett to be vice-chair of the Committee. All members supported
this nomination.
Mr. Lagin asked Chairperson Albury to request logging sticks from former Committee members.
8. MEMBER MATTERS:
None.
9. STAFF MATTERS:
The recording secretary mentioned the upcoming class sponsored in part by the Florida League
of Cities on Successful Advisory Board Training on May 19th. Ms. Bennett and Mr. Rodriguez
said they would check their schedules and get back to the City Clerk.
10. ADJOURNMENT:
Chairperson Albury adjourned the meeting at 5:52 p.m.
