TREE AND LANDSCAPE ADVISORY BOARD MINUTES
SPECIAL MEETING
MONDAY, OCTOBER 18th, 2006 - 5:30 P.M.
1. Chairperson Albury called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m.
2. Pledge of allegiance was recited.

4. APPROVAL OF OCTOBER 9. 2006 MINUTES
On MOTION by Ms. Bennett and SECOND by Ms. Schuster, the October 9, 2006
minutes were approved on a voice vote of 4-0.
5. ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Mr. Lagin mentioned that he spoke with Beth Powell and she offered to give a guided
walk to view the Scrub Jays in the nature preserve behind Friendship Park on the
morning of the Champion Tree Clinic.
On MOTION by Mr. Lagin and SECOND by Ms. Schuster, the Early Bird Walk was
approved on a voice vote of 4-0.
Mr. Lagin will get the information to Ms. Bennett to update the flyers.
6. OLD BUSINESS:
Chamoion Tree Clinic - Mr. Lagin updated the Board on the event. Ms. Bennett passed
out the flyer. She also confirmed the Garden Club will be doing the refreshments. The
Board Secretary informed the board that the website and channel 25 would be running a
slide for the event. The invitations will be mailed by Friday, October 20th. Chris
McCarthy witl be updated at the November 6th meeting on how many chairs and tables
would be needed as well as needing the sound system. The Vero Beach Tree Board
was added to the invitation list.
Mr. Sims arrived at 5:59pm. Mr. Sims said he got 10 saplings as door prizes. The Board
Secretary gave a general donation letter to Mr. Sims.

7. NEW BUSINESS:
Ms. Bennett brought in information from the National Arbor Day Foundation regarding
the National Poster Contest. It is open only to fifth grade. There was discussion on
presenting this information to the fifth grade art teachers and see if they are interested.
This contest would not take the place of Sebastian's Arbor Day art contest. Ms. Bennett
will contact the schools.
8. MEMBER MATTERS:
No member matters.
9. STAFF MATTERS:
The Board Secretary asked that the December meeting be pushed to December 11 th
and it was approved.
10. PUBLIC INPUT:
No public input.
11. ADJOURNMENT:
Chairperson Albury adjourned the meeting at 6:24 g.m.
